dealslg optimus slider prepaid android phone for $159…

Run for your life. The phone is ok but the keypad is really difficult because the keys are too cuved.

But the bigger problem is Virgin Mobile. Their service may be cheap but they have by far the worst customer service I"ve ever seen.

Luckily I've never had to call VM for support (I've heard horror stories...), but their service is great! If I was wanting to sign up now and saw the new $35 a month rate though, I may look elsewhere. However, I am grandfathered in on the $25/month rate, so I ain't goin' nowheres.

Back on topic, the Optimus Slider is a small upgrade to the Optimus V (my current phone, minus water damage). The CPU is 200MHz faster (600 vs 800, STILL short of the 1GHz mark needed for flash!), comes pre-installed with Android 2.3, and has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Even at $160, I don't think that this is THAT good of a deal though for what you get. I'd stick with an Optimus V, or one of the "lesser" VM phones. Then just root and custom ROM that bad boy and you got a decent phone on the cheap.
