Since it doesn't come with a mount, what would I need to mount it to either a Glock or picatinny rail?
Second gun light I've bought today! Put the wallet away! Yes face76, you need a weapon light mount, they are very cheap, I got one on Amazon that fits this 1 inch bezel for like 10 bucks.
How exactly is a flashlight qualified as 'HD'?
they make a rail mount kinda like this one:
http://www.chiefsupply.com/7115-Streamlight-Low-Profile-Mount-for-TL-2-LED-Series-Machined-Aluminum-Hard-Anodized-Rail-Grabber-Flashlight-Mount.aspx?sku=88118SL&source=Google+Base_CHIEF+Supply&gclid=CJ2FgcPmoK4CFQ8yhwodnHMU5A
but they are not really intending the use of this on handguns. Usually AR15s and the like.
@aidman123: The same way it's qualified as "tactical" :)
.. duh.
(sarcasm)
@aidman123: Heavy Duty?? HD doesn't always mean High-Def
Does this one actually have the high/low/off switch? The one sold during the last woot-off was supposed to, but it didn't. Not that it matters, but, some people might be buying based on that. Buyer beware, I suppose.
@ganzhimself: It does not have the high/low switch.
I got one of these during the last Woot-Off with the plan to give it as a late Christmas present to a friend if it looked nice. Holy cow, this thing is nice! Very high quality build. It doesn't use the expensive CR123 batteries like some lights this size, but it doesn't give up much in power and the AAA's are a lot easier to find for sure.
It also comes in a great box with foam padding and a magnetic lid. Makes a great gift if you have gun-happy friends like I do.
@brutherford: Any idea why it's rated for 20hrs @ 10%?
Or is it "merchandising speak" that us mere mortals will never grasp? :)
Good deal either way. Love those crenelated bezels!
@dcpotts: That means after 20 hours the light will have decreased by 10%. Batteries don't just die like the bad guys who get shot in the movies. So it will still work after 20 hours but it will be 10% dimmer. Like the bad guys in the movies.
Close. It means after 20 hrs the light is down to 10%. Or 13 lumius.
Does anyone know where this light is made?
@patrickganttbean: the box says it's made in china, where else
@rwrod: Thanks.
For some reason I was reading it as running for 20hrs @ 10% output- like the flashlights with multiple output options, which was confusing as it was a single output level flashlight.
I see my mistake armed with your post, and a bit more careful reading on my part. Thank you sir! (or ma'am)
Tactical flashlights normally have three settings: High, Low, and Strobe. The only things that make this a "tactical" light are the crenelated front, used for gashing faces in self defense, and of course the ability to be gun mounted. 130 Lumens is a respectable rating, but I have a great one that puts out 210, and it cost me 17.99 at a different site.
I've had mine at least a year. It is mounted to a Mossberg 500. I have fired it at least twenty times with the flashlight mounted and it still works well. I've been happy with it. I'm thinking about getting one for the glove box.
