This will go good with tonight's woot!
This link does not appear to work. Click on it and it just sits there.
me wants, but link no work
Hey everyone. We will let you know when this is fixed. If you would like me to email you when its live please let me know below. This deal is live but the rush of wooters is timing out the link.
I'd sure like to be in on the special sweetheart deal too... if you, no... when you get the link working!..
Car stereo installation is actually really easy to do yourself (for most vehicles). Before spending the $85, I highly recommend googling the procedure. Or call me, I'll do it for $50!
LOL "the rush of wooters is timing out the link"
ROTFLMAO! yes i'm sure people cant wait to pay 85 dollars to install their stereos...
So what's the point of this? Is this a $100 pre-paid card that is only costing $85? Or is this an $85 card costing $85?
What's the deal in this deal?
I believe the deal is, no matter what you'd have to pay to have your old car stereo ripped out and have your car outfitted for a new stereo, something I'd imagine would cost a couple hundred dollars, you instead only pay $85 in the form of this card, then take it in to your car-stereo-destroyer-of-choice, and pay him with this.
Am I correct in assuming this?
So the rush of wooters has been going on for 7 hours or more, man that's crazy :)
I have done several (10 or so) car stereos but I think on the car I have now I wouldn't mind paying someone to do it, I REALLY don't want to mess up my trim and have it come out of my pocket
please let me know
@stewy0327: yeah, must be single shopper at a time. last I heard they were moving stuff to a better server. I guess their commodore 64 met it's match.
I used to do installations professionally and we generally charged around $30-60 for labor, plus the parts (dash kit, wiring harness) if needed. The large majority of the installs were under $100 for basic installations. I'm curious if this is just pre-paying $85 for an installation, or is it like was stated above, a $100 card for $85? What if the actual install only costs $75?
OK, lets say I pony up the $$ and buy this card. Who is going to accept it??? Just wondering.
(Don't tell me to click the link. It don't work)
Hey everyone. Got a new deal on the same card. Sorry for all the delay. I will keep you posted on how long we can keep this price live.
kind of a whirlwind of change here but that works out better. thanks @prettywootprincess
NOTE: for clarity, comments earlier were based on a different store link that was not serving up correctly.
I think im going to start a weekly count of all the sponsored deals that dont work when they're posted. Now I know I might be asking a little much, my way adds an extra step to the process, but maybe staff should give this a try:
Step #1, click on the link you are going to post before you post it
Step #2, If it works, post deal, if not, try to fix it then goto back to step #1.
Yeah, the interwebz is hard.
For those curious, you're "saving" $14.00 off the original purchase price.
the company you're buying from: http://www.installernet.com/
the card you're buying: http://www.installernet.com/InstallCards/InstallCardDetail.aspx?ID=12
once you've purchased the card and want to schedule an appointment:

maybe i'm not interwebz savvy, but i can't find their locations besides that they're based in Andover, MA

their network of locations could be hit or miss i suppose
InstallerNet manages a network of oer 4000 independent installation companies in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. To find out if there is an installer near you go to http://www.installcard.com/MobileElectronics/InstallerFinder.aspx and enter your zip code. To find out if this unit will fit in your vehicle you can go to http://tinyurl.com/2afby67 and enter the year, make, model and trim level of your car. This tool, which we provide, will tell you what the dash opening size is. The vehicles that this unit will fit in will say Double DIN or Oversize.
Installer net cards work great - used them twice. This link worked for me. I'm set for when my Woot car stereo comes in!
The Car Stereo Deluxe eInstallCard includes a factory wiring harness, which is always required so that the factory harness doesn't have to be cut, and a dash kit which is sometimes required to cosmetically integrate an aftermerket head unit into the dash panel. There are some vehicles that have very elaborate dash panels, in some cases the HVAC controls are part of the radio trim panel, that can be very expensive and would result in additional charges beyond the price of the InstallCard but, in general, the InstallCard is much less expensive than the price you would be quoted if you walked in off the street with a product you bought elsewhere.
NOOOOOOO... my car stereo isn't big enough. It's only a Single DIN. :( Oh well. At least now I know how to find a new audio system for my car, so that I can have a direct input for my MP3 player.
@1jondough1: The $85 includes wire harnesses and dash kits. Depending on where you buy those, the parts alone can cost $20 - $40 or so. $85 is not that bad a deal. Ofcourse there's a disclaimer that custom labor or special bypasses (premium sound, OnStar, etc.) will cost extra.
Hey all, I just sent an email to those who were interested. If you have questions let us know.
@installernetbill: The TinyURL link to find your car stereo size isn't working for me.
@ciabelle: Working now.. The Woot won't fit my "DIN and Half" car.. Oh well...
