I feel a little guilty when I hear the zap and see the sparks, but I know one more little bugger bit the dust.

NO guilt at all. These things are a life-saver! [Maybe not theirs, but definitely a life-saver for everyone around me. Flies drive me NUTS.]

Really, Really! We are so lazy that we can't swing a 1/4lb. fly swatter!

@joerunner2: You still have to swing this, although not as fast. The difference is you can kill them while they are in the air instead of waiting for them to land and hoping they aren't too fast for you when you go for the kill.

My yard breeds gnats. Every picnic and function my guests ended up indoors until I discovered these guys. It will lay to waste a cloud of the ear and eye infiltrators with a couple of waves and the smell of frying exoskeleton. Also be sure to keep these away from your tipsy uncle who loves to mix his tom collins with the occasional zap to the back of your leg.

Yay! No more 'raisin toast'. XP

What do you use if your flies aren't battery powered?

vote-for4vote-against

my fav part of this thing is that moment when someone says, "it's battery powered, how strong could it be..."

My first and only experience with harborfreight.com was not a good one. 3 out of the 4 items I ordered were out of stock and got cancelled, yet they charged me for shipping on the whole order. And they double charged my card. And they don't respond to email. And their shopping cart is terrible. Not worth your time.

I LOVE this thing. It fun to use when you have friends over and have had a few drinks.

@quadzillaxxx: :) I know...1,000,000 volt stun guns are battery powered.

Just remember, this isn't your 'other' swatter; if you ever connect with a solid surface when swinging, the cheap plastic used for this gadget won't survive.
Even with the lower cell voltage of NiMh batteries, it will produce enough zap to do the job.
I scored two of these some time ago for $1.99 each but last I saw them in-store, they were ~$7 so the offer is pretty good.
A word of warning though, wasps are pretty durable so step on them after they are stunned.
Otherwise, they may get revenge.

@abowmankc: I have never had a problem with HF. Maybe they just don't like you.

We have one just like this, just ordered more. Doesn't work as well with flies (because you can damage the racket by smacking it on a table), but my wife uses it to kill scary spiders.

Pervert-ables. Just sayin'. ;)

I have one of these and it's good for killing stinkbugs. Flies move around too fast. Stinkbugs will let you scoop them right up and then fry them!

There is a HF about 5 miles from my home, and I LOVE IT! I get all my tools that I want to keep or use often from sears, but if I need a cheap tool or a one time use kind of thing, HF all the way. HF is like a fat hooker...you know it's not the greatest quality, but most of the time the price is right and it will get the job done.
I saw these were on clearance for $1.70 in my local store so I picked up a couple last weekend. They are awesome.
