Denny’s Restaurants Free Grand Slam Breakfast for $0

Denny's will once again offer a free Grand Slam on the Tuesday after the Superbowl 02/09/10 from 6AM-2PM. No purchase is necessary, dine in only. The Grand Slam consists of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage and 2 bacon.

Has anyone tried to get in on a Denny's deal and succeeded? Anytime I have tried (over the years) I have always been told of some petty disqualifier and have been denied.

I went last year with 9 of my friends and they gave us 11 free grand slams...just as advertised. FREE!

Co-workers have done this in the Chicago area.. be prepared for 5 hour wait times to get into the restaurants though..

Went last year and it worked great (St. Louis area)! We got there 20 min. early, and there was no problem, but within 20 minutes there was a huuuuge line, so get there early!

FWIW...We also went to this last year. I was downsized in Dec '08, so I had nothing better to do, anyway. My wife and I took 4 of our 5 kids last year. For the kids, they push the child's grand slam, which is smaller. You should be able to get the reg grand slam for the child, though, which is what we did for my 10yo son. (He and his 8yo sister were home-schooled last year, while my oldest was in public school and the youngest 2 weren't in school yet)

Other than a LONG wait to get in the door, there were no issues at all. You can also add on additional sides like a Ham slice for additional fees, plus you have to pay for your drinks, but the actual grand slam is free. Definitely a good deal if you don't mind the wait in the cold.

We'll probably go again this year, although the 2 home schoolers are back in public school and will miss out.

Unless you time is worthless, pass on this. IMHO waiting anything more than a half hour for a free $6 meal is just crazy. Take that time and do something with it. Vegging in front of the TV for that time is worth more than $6 to me.

Heh, with a wife and 7 children, my time there's worth [up to] 9x as much as it is for a single guy. Plus, I'll be spending time with the family! 8^)
