I'd rather have one 18 foot cable.

3 feet is just too short to be practical.

vote-for3vote-against

Any chance all six will work? I ordered a few cables from 1saleaday.com and one work the first time I tried it and then just quit.

Not all cables will transfer data AND power with iPhone 4 or 4S. I can't tell if these will do both or not.

Useful for me as a developer - 3' is fine.

I have, however, bought cheap iPhone cables that either don't charge, don't transfer data, or don't do either. Some even show up as "charging" but don't actually deliver any power.

@stephan.com: Oh, but I did buy the pack - it's worth the $5 risk if even one works right - and it ain't rocket science, they'll probably all be fine.

vote-for11vote-against

plus, my cat eats them, so I go through them like crazy

@stephan.com: so Stephan, any tips on where we can go for a wholesome, funfilled weekend in the city?

vote-for6vote-against

@stephan.com: My cat does the same damn thing. Unfortunately he typically pics the most expensive of my wires to eat. He;s gotten my headset cable twice and that's $20 each.

All cables are not created equal! Besides the durability, there's also the question of cable thickness/quality and the amount of current they can transfer efficiently. I got some of those cables from that Amazon deal when they were like 67 or so cents and with those, it took longer to charge my ipad than to run it down. A full charge from near 0% took somewhere in the range of 14 to 15 hours. I recently got some of those 1 sale a day cables, and my charge time for the iPad 2 is at least half that. I literally thought the replacement iPad I got from the Apple store had some type of defect, because it took at least twice as long as my previous one on which the screen at cracked, but now I see it was just the poor quality of those Amazon cables (the ones that shipped from China, at least).

These look just like the one I got on vacation when I forgot my cable (the little symbol and length). That cable charged and transferred data fine, but didn't allow sound to play when plugged in.

To all those who are skeptical about these, rest assured, it's most likely just because the iPhone 5 will have a different dock connector (recently released concept photos confirm) and, presumably, so will the iPad 3. Companies with massive quantities of these cables are most likely just trying to unload them now before them become relics.

Pretty easy website to order from. They take paypal and setting up a new account was just an email and password. Paypal filled the rest. We shall see if they are worth a crap.

@tenkin: Sweet! A new proprietary cable format so all my old devices and cables with lifetimes well exceeding my mp3 player/cell phone are instantly outdated when I upgrade. I can't wait!

@w00tgurl If you’re looking for an experience, look no further - New York’s hottest club is TRASH. As you step through the stainless steel door of this Meatpacking hotspot, you’ll be greeted by none other than Pierre, the Muslim Elvis impersonator. This club has everything: clones, freaks, sneezing, a Russian man on a prepaid cell phone, and anyone can get in. There’s no password. At the door, just do the Cosby Face.

@tenkin Concept photos are artist renderings and are in no way indicative of the final project.

I've bought too many cheap cables that for whatever reason won't charge any of my iPhones. This price might be worth taking the risk, but I don't think I want to as I am not in dire need...

vote-for2vote-against

@tenkin: B.S. Apple still sells millions of the iPhone 3GS and that's two full generations behind the current iPhone. Not to mention 2 generations of iPads and many generations of iPods still in use AND being sold. Retailers aren't "clearing out" anything when it comes to Apple cables.

Usually one cable is $15-$25. Even if 5 don't work, you're still getting a deal on 1 good cable. I think this is a good deal.

I stock up on these... my husband is brutal on cords and my daughter's are always disappearing.
I like Ben's Outlet, too. :)

Having a hard time getting my cart to update. Clicked on the link twice on accident, now I have 2 in my cart. When I try to change quantity, the site crashes.

Oh well :(

My wife keeps losing hers, cat ate my other 2.

There we go, after about 10 minutes of reloading due to:

"Well this is embarrassing, but something went wrong.

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly. Sorry for any inconvenience."

got cart to update and order complete.

At 5 bucks, this is worth the risk. In for 1!

Does anybody know where to get these cables in black? I know they exist, but I can't find them for sale anywhere.

I know, it shouldn't be important, but I'm picky that way.

vote-for2vote-against

@merichmond: I have a black one that says AT&T on one of the connection ends. I'd imagine you can probably get one from them, though I don't know for sure since I got mine from a friend, and it's been a while now...

I was about to purchase... but the PayPal option required a log in FROM THE BEN's OUTLET site and interface... I am skeptical. I always see a "push" directly to PayPal and don't want to enter my password and log on info in a vendor's site... maybe I am paranoid, but it just doesn't feel right. Sorry... not buying any.

vote-for2vote-against

@merichmond: I have one from DLO which I think I got at Best Buy

If you have this many apple products in your household, you might be [mod: iTrolling is uncool]

vote-for2vote-against

I got like 20 of these at a few previous sales thinking that would last me a while! Nope now way not even close! We have like 5 iOS devices in our house alone! I gave half of them away to friends & family over the holidays cuz it seems I know someone who has a bad one or lost one! I was using one with a tear & kink in the wire for a while before replacing it! Stupid cuz it's not worth frying ur device over $1.00 USB cord! Gonna stock up again for sure! Thanks!

vote-for1vote-against

@highwyre237: nice one, i'm glad you got it :)

vote-for1vote-against

5 days into the process and they have taken my money but not shipped my cables. BEWARE!!!
