I just realized I should have made a prediction question for this deal.

@cowboydann: I almost did just to steal your thunder

vote-for4vote-against

please take note, that says Body Power not Baby Powder

vote-for41vote-against

How many hangers will fit on the handlebars? I got 23 on my treadmill...

vote-for9vote-against

Hoping for a generator was too much I guess, but having to draw power from the grid to make it harder to pedal just seems...wrong. An exercise bike you can't use if the power fails??? And how about some info on the MP-3 player, like how much it holds, SD slot?, etc.

Oh, and I'm guessing only about a dozen hangers, assuming they have clothes on them. Maybe two dozen if it's all panties...

Does the guy come with it?

GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!

I've been looking for a stationary bike, but I'm far too broke for to purchase this one. Back to craigslist for me. ;P

@kirika: These kind of magnetic bikes tend to be great. The reason is lack of moving parts. You have a disk (shaped like a disk brake on your car)you pedal this disk and on either side of it, are magnets as you turn up the power to the magnets the resistance increases. But the parts never touch each other.

You can find this same kind of magnetic resistance on tons of bikes now a days used on Craigs List. I bought my mom one it works on six D batteries and cost $250 new and cost me $40 used. Don't buy the exercise bikes with straps. But those still get you in shape.

BTW I bought my Lifecycle exercise bike with the same engine in 1993-94? That sucker still works I bought the base model with no bells and whistles for $700 (cheapest they ever sold a bike for). Only problem is that the power cord got frayed, I got a friend to wire it back into the plug. That was at year 10 of daily use.

Good Luck

+1 for mentioning Feynman! Woot just ROCKS.

vote-for6vote-against

How noisy is this thing? Would using it in an apartment be a quick way out of my lease?

vote-for3vote-against

Does anyone know how much these cost regularly? I can't find a retail price anywhere!

vote-for6vote-against

Academy Sports website has this things for $99, but not available online, just in-store.

vote-for6vote-against

Since when did Steve-O model sports equipment?

vote-for3vote-against

I can't find any reviews of this anywhere. I've been looking at stationary bikes, and this appears to be a decent deal. Anybody have anything to say about this bike? I hate to shell out the cash and regret it.

vote-for4vote-against

I can't see this being that great of a deal if Academy Sports is selling them for $99.

Wish I had a store near me. I'd pick one up for that price.

vote-for3vote-against

Would a thousand times rather ride my bikes outside. So I do.

vote-for2vote-against

@woothulhu: Since he got that expensive new girlfriend (one of George Clooney's castoffs, I think). He needs the extra money to keep her from realizing he's a giant tool.

vote-for2vote-against

Academy Sports does not have these in stock anywhere within 200 miles of me. They have no open purchase orders for them either, so forget that $99 deal.

vote-for3vote-against

To whoever asked about noise, these recumbent bikes are essentially noiseless outside of the soft "swisshing" sound of your thighs rubbing together (heh) and the sound of the rotating pedals. Its not like the "thud thud thud" of a treadmill and no motor sound because there isn't one.

This is about as silent as exercise gets to be honest...the loudest sound will likely be you, sucking wind.

However, bikes really come down to their "programmed routines". While you can set a manual level of resistance it is not ideal, most bikes have different resistance programs that will switch it up for you, it keeps you from being bored, also from over-working/hurting yourself (unless you perpetually ride up-hill in the wild and coast home). My Schwinn has great routines, I'm not sure about this one.

vote-for2vote-against

My parents have one. Total piece of crap for anything more than the easiest pedaling.

vote-for2vote-against

I was hoping for a generator on this bike too! But I guess that costs way more. Started looking around and found: http://genarider.com/ It starts at $1.4k. Yowtch!

vote-for2vote-against

The assembly instructions look crazy.

vote-for2vote-against

@xeriandros: Magnetic, so there won't be much noise at all.

vote-for1vote-against

I had purchased this Body Power recumbent for $599 at a local Specialty Fitness Store last year and wanted another for a relative who recently wanted me to sell them mine. No retail stores have this unit available or at a lower price than Amazon until this Woot offer. I called Academy and they havent sold this model in over a year and it was at a higher price...

vote-for3vote-against

Mine took about 20 minutes to assemble thats very odd that someone would have difficulty as Im not very mechanical. Works Great, The pre Set Programs and color screen is awesome.

vote-for2vote-against

So those that have this machine is it worth it? Is this a good solid machine for working out for an hour everyday?

vote-for1vote-against

If it's the same type of magnetic wheel as they use in ellipticals, they can definitely start making noise when internal washers break and parts start clipping, squealing, and creaking. I have no experience with this brand, but the design is not guaranteed to be silent.

vote-for0vote-against

i read baby powered.. and thought it operated on babies..

vote-for2vote-against

Day number 5 and looking for that shipped notice!!!

vote-for0vote-against

@scottmerrick: Yeah, sorry about that. Our vendor just got back to us and they have confirmed that these have shipped. They're working on getting us the rest of the tracking and you should get it by tomorrow at the latest.

Feel free to email us at service@woot.com if you still haven't gotten anything.

vote-for2vote-against

@denniswkam: Thanks! Really looking forward to it. My old hand-me-down treadmill is slipping worse every day. They're gonna find me face down with the broken belt slapping my cold face some morning...Have a great day.

vote-for1vote-against

Still nothing in my inbox. Any updates on shipping status?

vote-for1vote-against

and nothing in the email this morning: :-(

vote-for1vote-against

11 days, no ship. What's up?

vote-for1vote-against

12 days and still nothing. At what point do I request a refund? Or is there hope...Please respond

vote-for1vote-against

@scottmerrick: I'm not seeing any emails from you. Are you emailing in from a different email address? Can you please contact us with the email address that is associated with your account?

I also want to assure you that your order has shipped out. I'm not sure why you didn't get the tracking email.

vote-for1vote-against

I may have two addresses. Can you email me to the one associated with the order? Thanks!

vote-for1vote-against

and I'm not emailing, just posting here, as I thunk I was supposed to do!
