Guess I am gonna show my nerd-dom and fan-dom for this series. There's an error in the description of Aliens. It says:

"The terror continues as Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) returns to Earth after drifting through space in hypersleep for 57 years. Although her story about the alien encounter is met with skepticism, she agrees to accompany a team of high-tech marines back to LV-246... and this time it’s war."

The planet they went back to was actually LV-426 (not 246). C'mon Amazon, get it right!

This is worth it for the Blu-Ray version of Aliens alone

No free two-day shipping for prime... I guess it makes sense. I'm still a little disappointed, but I can't wait to watch them on my big new led-tv! And if I can't find anyone to watch with me, I'll test out my 5.1 surround headphones. I'm such a consumer whore.

Also, I enjoyed the extras. If you like enough to add it to your collection, I think it's worth paying a little bit more. I wish Star Wars had been handled this way in terms of theatrical and directors cut offerings.

I have the UK 6-disc set. It has a fold out set of coasters instead of the US's cheap book version with cardboard pockets.

It's region free and I have played the discs on multiple players including Sony with no issues.

Does anybody know if this 4-disc set includes the additional "directors cut" of the original "Alien" and "Aliens"? Aside from that, I don't see much point in all the extra material; maybe it's just me....

the posted link is for a re-issued version of the set which only includes 4 discs. the original 6 disc version is also available on amazon.co.uk and looks like it's $30USD after shipping to USA (compared to $50 on amazon.com). the 6 disc version is listed on the site as region free and there is also a customer shot of the back of the case showing thats it's an all region set.

It's definitely region-free folks. I got my set a few weeks ago and in works flawlessly in by BD player.

I see 9.97 GBP, but even with my region free player would rather not have non-US region discs.

I like how you didn't put any descriptions after the first two.

Actually I see the difference, this is a 4 disc version, mine was the 6 disc anthology. Guess I got a couple extra Special Feature discs. My set, which is also available, also has this thing called Muthur Mode, that basically let's you bookmark special features as you watch the movies, then loads those specifically when you put in the Extras discs. It also acts as a movie overlay if you switch discs, so the player doesn't exit, which speeds up load times. Lot's of Weyland Yutani branding.

@devexityspace: Unless there are different releases over there, this is Region Free. I just received a set from Amazon UK (mine was slightly more than 20 dollars converted, about 13 GBP plus shipping originally). Works flawlessly in my PS3. Took about 3 weeks to arrive, Royal Mail. IMO, no real risk ordering these, especially considering the price differential.

The site says it's 17.49 GBP, not sure where the poster got 18.92 as a conversion from, it's going to be around 30 bucks I believe, with shipping. Still 20 dollars less than our Amazon.

Is $18.92 worth it to chance whether or not the amazon description is correct or not? It doesn't state Region Free, so I am going to have to pass.

I mean, I could post a review stating that it is really the Harry Potter Box Set.. doesn't make it true
