Pinnacle...meh. Don't waste your money, no matter how tempting. I never met a Pinnacle product I liked. Yeah, I was dumb enough to risk sale prices to be completely disappointed 3 times, including Pinnacle hardware and software.

Buy Adobe. Maybe they're not the messiah of A/V editing, but their software works, and works well.

You've been warned!

I purchased this software in a previous woot (minus the training DVD) and although I was able to edit the video I have had issues exporting the final video.

jyg is soooo correct. I've done the same and finally, after 3 versions, with numerous updates, gave up. Could have been a great product, but always had problems with it.

Buggy Pinnacle version 9 - 12 never works the first try. Sometimes works the 2nd try. Lots of features...if only they were usable. Read their own forum where you most often find how to get around the bugs in the product rather than how to use the product.

Like others I've tried various versions of Pinnacle. Like others I've been very unhappy. Slow, cumbersome, crappy rendering. Pass. The install alone should have been enough to turn me off; takes forever and a lot more interaction than I've seen in an install in years. For my money I like Sony Vegas but Final Cut is also a better choice than this.

I support several businesses that try and use this software. When it works it is an easy to use, cost effective solution: when it works. Product support? What support? We have more problems with this app then anything else. Most of the users have since switched to Adobe Premier; just as useful and vastly superior support.

Not worth it.

I have an older version of pinnacle I bouight at best buy for 3 times this price. Got it home and found out in order to speedup/slow down the video I'd have to pay another chunk of change and download some module/plug-in. Didn't do much of anything that windows movie maker didn't do without buying more software, to heck with them.

Junk.
I have had so many versions of this software!
Even after a cluster of patches and updates - poop.
I use Adobe. Get it done 1st time and quit screwing around.
No lock ups when capturing or rendering!

Skip Pinnacle...Adobe, too. If you're serious about making movies, get a Mac and use Final Cut Studio...it's what 9 of 10 Oscar-nominated films used this year (ie. the people who could afford any technology they wanted).

get it!!!!! i have it and it is all the way worth the money... sells for 2 hundred dollers!! it is also fast easy and efective it has over 1000 great transitions!!!
