Reusable Bag - Earth Day April 22 for $0
In Store only
On April 22, 2012, we'll be giving away one bag per guest, near the Guest Service desk in stores. Get one before they're gone
What a great idea Target!
At Target, every reusable bag you use, they take a dime off your total purchase. Not much, but after 10 bags, (for large grocery orders) a dollar is a dollar.
@teenracer6: I understand the point of this, but usually when I leave Target, it's with a handful of items that I don't need a bag for, plastic or otherwise, and they don't always give me the discount just for opting out of a plastic bag. Then again, I'm not exactly counting my dimes over here.
@teenracer6: are you sure it's ten cents? My target gives back five cents. I know this fact because I take advantage of it every time I go and have been doing so for years now. I just used it yesterday and the receipt shows five cents off. Could this be a regional discount difference?
I've been using useable bags for years and use them whenever I shop at Target and I never noticed that. However, I shopped there Friday and dug out my receipt just now and see that they credited me 5 cents for each bag I used. They used a coupon code for it.
Any bag rebate probably varies locally. Here, when you bring your own bag, you simply DON'T get charged the county bag tax.
@cengland0: It's 5 cents.

In addition to Earth Day programs, Target offers guests a 5-cent discount throughout the year for every reusable bag they use on their shopping trips. As a result of this program, which was introduced in November 2009, Target has saved guests millions of dollars and diverted hundreds of millions of plastic bags from landfills.
handing them out as I walked in, got one per person in my family
I received one today and they are good if the only thing you're buying at the store is a gallon of milk. They are very small.
@jawwaad: I just came here to post that they are kind of small, also.
@theoneill555 and @jawwaad: I like the small bags. The ones I have now are big and they overload them. Now that these new ones are small, they have to use more of them and that will give me more chances to get five cents since that's per bag used.
They are indeed small.. but free is free I suppose
Went at eleven AM and they were all gone. Im thinking that my store just put them out and went about their buisness so people took 3 or more.
