AMC Theatres: ULTIMATE Marvel Marathon: 6 Marvel Movies Including The Avengers ($6.67 per movie!) for $40
The marathon is on May 3 at 11:30am local time.
Includes: Iron Man 1 and 2, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and ends with the midnight showing of The Avengers.
$6.67 per movie
At participating AMC Theatres
AMC Stubs members get $5 in AMC Stubs Bonus Bucks to spend during the day of the event.
That seems expensive since all but the last film are out on DVD/ BluRay. Just have a marathon in your rich friend's home theater before The Avengers midnight showing.
That's 12 hrs...maybe if there was free food and beverages...but at the prices the theaters charge for what is loosely called food....no thanks!
I'd rather spend ~$7 to see Avengers at a less-crowded matinee show, after a nice lunch when I'm well rested, than spend $40 and see it after 10+ hours of movies I've already seen in theatre or am not interesed in. It does sound like fun for younger fans with their contemptible ammounts of energy, but the price still seems high. I guess this deal could be worse, but I don't recall Daredevil ever being in the avengers.
@mtw1057: Sure you're not tired now? I don't see mention of Daredevil anywhere...
@roeszler: I think he was taking a shot at the movie daredevil by saying this movie marathon would be worse if you had to watch that movie.
And daredevil is infinitely better than watching electra or catwoman.
My local Showplace theater (which does NOT have 20 minutes of commercials before the show) is running the same deal for $30. Given that all but one of the films is second run AMC is off it's rocker.
This would destroy me. I couldn't do this all day. Plus, I have a job, so fail.
THIS IS AWESOME!!! But I'd hate to in there after the first 4-5 hours smelling all the geeks LOL, lets not even talk about the smell when the midnight show comes up... Ewwwww
cool, but weak. i'm seeing a marathon of the same for $20. it was a mere $8 for the other movies total.
@mtw1057: We bring you this nerd response in Comic Book Guy's voice...."Actually, Daredevil is a current member of the Avengers. Although, it seems like everybody in the Marvel Universe at one time or another has been or is now one type of Avenger or another (original, Secret, New, extra crispy...etc.)"
Yes Daredevil is infinitely better than watching Elektra or Catwoman but that's like saying that eating a frozen dinner is better than having to catch a rat and eat it raw, either way what you consumed was (profanity).
Now if they would lower the damn Blu-ray price of these movies, it might be worth a home version movie marathon. Capt America and Thor are still priced way above other movies that came out at the same time. And would they stop this Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack crap? If I wanted a DVD along with my Blu-Ray version, I'll buy it seperately. Just a way for them to artificially keep the price up.
Better deal if it is in your area
@flswamp: All "kids" movies need to include a DVD until video players in cars are all converted to blu-ray. Now (IMHO) the new ultraviolet streaming digital copies are of little to no value and artificially inflate prices. (Regular downloadable digital copies are a different story)....
