@alligatorterror: These have been around at least 70 years, and that's pretty much what they've always been called. It's simple, proven technology, and they're re-useable for years, unlike the chemical warmers. Did you think this was a cigarette lighter, or something?

I've got a couple of these, and they're great for warming your hands when fishing on a cold morning. It can be tricky getting the mantle to light. A lighter works better than a match, and a brazing torch is even better. And you have to be careful about overfilling with lighter fluid. You need to keep it in the bag, when lit, because the bare metal is too hot to touch. When done with it, you can either just let it burn off the remaining fuel, or carefully pop off the mantel with the edge of the cap, but you'll need to protect your hands, because the lid will be very hot.
