Anyone have any experience with the DisplayPort connection? It looks like you'd need an HDMI or VGA adapter for most new machines...
@joeymalcomb: Displayport is newer than DVI/VGA, but yet if those are what your machine has you'll need an adapter.
16ms response rate :(
i don't see HDMI.. can any one help..
Only 2 reviews on Newegg, but that display port thingy appears to be a prob...

I have this monitor, it's very good quality, and it very very thin and portable. It's normally a second (or third) monitor on my desktop, but it's also great to take along when I need to do work somewhere other than my desk.
However... I have a newer video card with a display port connection... and an Apple MacBook with a mini-displayport (and adapter). Both work like a charm.
But as said above, don't buy this thinking you can slap a cheap HDMI or VGA adapter on it. It might work, eventually with a lot of tweaking, maybe. It's a great monitor, but the reason it's so cheap is that it IS displayport only. If you have displayport, you're set. Otherwise, I'd recommend you pass.
@joeymalcomb: bought one month ago. great monitor...for my laptop. If your computer doesn't already come with a displayport port and you don't have much experience with adapters, prepare to spend aLOT of time learning how to convert. Just purchasing a displayport to anything adapter will not work.. you have to buy the ACTIVE displayport adapter. There's a huge difference. I ordered almost 3 different adapters (mostly because i didn't research what i specifically needed) and none worked I finally checked on a tech forum and learned that you have to purchase an active displayport adapter which is approx. over 50$. However, if you do get it to work, the monitor is really really nice.
Higher end graphics cards have display ports, DVI and generally an HDMI. The display port, as well as DVI and HDMI are all considered Digital, where as VGA is analog. If you want to convert between a digital output, it is very easy. Converters can be found for cheep. Newegg of monoprice are the two companies i prefer. A note for all the techies, to run three monitors on a nice graphics card, generally the third needs to be a display port monitor
Beware of 1saleaday.com. I bought a monitor from them that was DOA and their response (within a few days of receiving it) was "you should contact Samsung."
I love how all of the negative comments are about not being able to find a way to use it with a connection that's not compatible. I don't remember people with VGA connections complaining when they bought a DVI monitor or buying a SATA drive for their IDE computer.
When people would say that the human race is getting dumber I would laugh because I felt it wasn't true. I'm starting to think they're right...
I ordered one, still says processing. Site is extremely slow, I expected to receive mine by now :(
So I got mine a few days ago finally but my computer has dvi. I tried using my adapter that came with a computer that has display port to convert to dvi. But it must be one way only as it will not work directly hooked into the display port on the monitor to dvi. Obviously only can go from display port on the computer to dvi. not converting a monitor back. if that makes sense.
