Always nice to have some sort of tool kit in every car you own. We have something similar in all three of our kids' cars. Good to have on hand. Might want to consider upgrading the flashlight and adding some sort of folding mat too.

@lavikinga: I always keep a mylar emergency thermal blanket in the car. http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/5744c8c7-7c68-41f7-8b2c-82f0f21c8d8a/4-pack-of-emergency-thermal-blankets-mylar-free-shipping-keep-one-in-your-ca

They're there for safety...but have worked well to protect my clothes when I've gotten a flat tire.

@glindagw: oh i like that idea. although i usually do the whole damsel in distress look, what with having a giant SUV, someone generally comes along thinking I am incapable of handling the jack on my big vehicle.

@hobbit: Last time I got a flat it was snowing, I was wearing 4 inch heels and a silk dress. I was leaning into the trunk to pull out boots & a real coat when a good samaritan offered me assistance. I'm very independent but there are times when I don't mind playing the girl card.

Seems like a really good deal for only 10 bucks.

Could use a few more items but seems like a good start to a kit for the price.

@glindagw: living in the south I have to do very little to play girl card. I don't mind really, I don't like getting dirty. The best story though is when I pulled in to a parking lot to change my tire and I knew this man had been following me for a couple of miles - there hadn't been any place to pull off previously as the road didn't have a shoulder of any kind - and his whole point was to tell me that I had a flat. There was a nice couple that came over a few minutes later to ask if I needed help as I was trying to figure out how to work the jack, her husband laughed at me and put it back in my car and got his out. But that was back when I had a sports car and the jack that came from the factory, I don't think anyone but a mechanical engineer could have figured it out.

Already have a kit in my truck, but this is a good deal. After finding myself in a strange city with a flat tire. I decided not to depend on the kindness of strangers anymore. With AAA, they get to change your flat and are happy to do it!

Your not going to be changing any tires wit this kit. You may be able to remove the hubcaps or lugnut covers. The gloves and case are nice. But this kit is pretty weak.

Add that little car lighter to car lighter charger that was on woot! the other day and it would be a good deal.

Looks like a good deal, but 8 feet of jumper cable can be a bit short.

vote-for1vote-against

Good deal, i got one too. Can't beat that.

Looks like a deal-a-day site. To paraphrase Paul Mooney, "Everybody wanna be a Woot, but don't nobody wanna be a Woot." Anyway, deal appears to be dead. Now they have a pleather GPS carrying case...

Don't know the gauge of the jumper cables but if they aren't heavy enough they won't draw enough power to jump a dead battery. But at that price it's worth it for the rest of the set!
