Sottomarino Swiss Chronograph Ceramic Watch with Sapphire Crystal for $129 + shipping
What do you mean you said “Swiss chocolate?” I could’ve sworn you said you wanted a Swiss Chronograph for Christmas.

Don't know much about watches but these look good. What makes a $129 watch and a $29 watch? Is it the trademark or something else? I really don't know.
This is the same price these guys (precision time) offer it all the time on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sottomarino-Mens-Ceramico-Full-Ceramic-and-Sapphire-Crystal-/190609510848? - and on Ebay they offer free shipping.
Not real impressive as a 'deal'
@cindihoward: Good question. The difference between this and a $29 is the movement and the materials. This is a Swiss movement which is the best and most accurate. The case and band are full ceramic and virtually scratch-proof. The crystal is sapphire and also virtually scratch-proof. Here's a link to a video showing Ceramico watches being grated with 40-grit sandpaper and leaving no scratches. http://goo.gl/qQCYy Hopefully that gives a little more info.
@kcjones99: Actually, that deal came off of ebay and it's an exclusive Woot deal.
You can use the coupon code PT377 for free ground shipping as well.
Is a Swiss movement an automatic, no wind movement?
@theblands: Not this one. There are both battery and automatic swiss movements just as there are japanese quartz and automatic movments. As far as the movement food chain goes here's a quick summary. 1.Swiss 2.Japanese 3.Chinese 4. Mexican and then it's a free for all. Most watches worth their weight are either Swiss or Japanese.
@kcjones99: Precision Time sells them all the time on eBay - because Precision Time owns this brand! It's an in-house brand.
I have to say, watches that say "swiss movt" (movt=movement) are often assembled in parts of Asia, with the case, band, and other parts typically being non-Swiss. I'm not trying to start a flame war, just hoping to give more info to people not as experienced with watches.
Also, "sottomarino" in Italian means "underwater". An odd name choice in this case since watch is only rated as water resistant (not water proof - big difference) to 50 meters.
are you going to be diving deeper than 150 feet? lol
I have the sottomarino alto mare, great looking watch, looks way more expensive than it is, keeps time, and has not scratched yet, and it's my work watch, when it comes time for another watch (pretty much every couple of months, i will be ooking at another sottomarino.
be prepared for it not to come in the really nice box they show in the video though. I was kind of disappointed when I opened the box, until i took the watch out of the tin, then i liked it again
@a4tis: No watch is water proof. They all come with a water resistance rating and unless it has a screw-down crown I would not take it diving.
@precisiontime: Link noted still works for me on Ebay... same price + free shipping with no need for coupon. Just sayin'
@kcjones99: Not sure what link that is. Here is the link I have for $149 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190604507878
@a4tis: Typically, the requirement for having a watch labeled as "swiss" or "swiss-made" is that 50% of the parts for the movement is manufactured in Switzerland. I think there are some other requirements too though.
I'd skip this and just pick up a Citizen Eco-Drive for the price.
@silveri: Exactly which eco-drive would you get for this price? Are you just interested in the eco drive or an automatic watch then? We have some other watches you might be interested in then. Sapphire crystal and Ceramic watches are a totally different style than the eco-drives. A comparable watch to these normally costs twice as much when it's on sale.
@precisiontime: There are several (feel free to look) which in most cases have are water resistance of 100m versus the 50m here.
This is irrelevant however as I was stating an opinion on where I would personally spend the money. The Citizen eco-drives are excellent watches.
I have a few as well as some other non-Citizen watches.
Just my 2¢ as far as an alternative.
@kcjones99: Yeah, this link is for a different Sottomarino Ceramico. This is the Japanese Quartz non-chronograph version. That's why it's always $129. The one on sale today is normally $149-199 on sale. This is a great watch as well. Just no chrono or Swiss movement.
