I always use Amazon for my text books.

@kylemittskus: I saw that those who buy textbooks at Amazon may be offered a free 3-month trial of Amazon Prime -- free 2-day shipping on all Amazon products! That is a good deal.

half.com is excellent for textbooks, as well. I often find things that are cheaper there than on Amazon, even with shipping included. Of course, I also don't care if most of my textbooks aren't new and pristine... I'll pay a few bucks less for a few bent pages :)

For any parents (the ones who only want the best for their students) who are reluctant to try used textbooks, here's a recent experience: Bookstore price for new books- $727, bookstore price for used books-$512, Amazon price for used books- $272. And the books were in great shape, too!

I did the Amazon Prime Trial in December when it was only for 1 month. I cancelled before the month was over with no problem. Just took a phone call - no pressure to continue. Sign up and cancel before the trial runs out!
