dealsphilips 2 outlet pigtail style adapter for $2.79…

By the time you spend what it costs to buy 4 of these you'd be better off just buying a new power strip that has the spacing already built in.

vote-for7vote-against

I'd kind of expect this price to come with 3 or 5 of them.

vote-for14vote-against

my local Ocean State Job Lot has these on the shelf for the same price- no shipping.
Bought very similar at Home Depot (and other places) 3 pack for $5

Only question I have is that since this lets you double up on each plug how long before you over tax your power strip? It would suck if every time you turned on something the fuse would trip and cut off all power to your devices. Adding one would be fine, but I wouldn't recommend filling up your power strip with these things.

Buying because the logo for the site has a mustache.

@thetexastwister: Totally depends on what you're plugging in. You could plug in an awful lot of phone/ipod/bluetooth/whatever chargers in one strip and not even dent it. Or one single hair-dryer or vacuum...

vote-for19vote-against

Well, this is a better deal than the strawberries.

vote-for0vote-against

@tsfisch: In that case, I'm going to plug the following into one power strip using these adapters:

1) A hair dryer.
2) A microwave oven.
3) Another hair dryer.
4) A straightening iron.
5) One more hair dryer.
6) A space heater.
7) Yet another hair dryer.
8) An air compressor.
9) Still another hair dryer.
10) An XBox 360.
11) A PS3.
12) An A/C unit.

Time to get the marshmallows.

@bigellow: you have 1600W of power available to a circuit in a standard house setup so as long as there not all on at the same time your fine.

I keep 2 of these stowed in my travel bag. You never know when you're going to end up in a hotel room just 2 outlets by the nightstand, and they're both in use, and you need to plug in your phone charger. This price is nothing to write home about, though. Get thee to Fry's and save the shipping.

AMAZON > RANDOM SITE [and better shipping!]:

A 5 pack of these - it drops in price to ~$10 w/ Free Prime shipping [Free Student/caregiver Prime avaliable]

I love these things, though I dont know how much of a 'Deal' this 'Deal' is.

vote-for2vote-against

@psywiped: Darn. I forgot about plugging in the vacuum cleaner. I suppose one of the hair dryers will need to go.

I hear you. My general rule of thumb is not to go over 15 amps on an outlet, though I believe they can support a bit more than this. I like to err on the side of caution in case there's bad wiring somewhere.

Hmmmmm....plugging an extension cord into a power strip. At work that's a safety violation, and a citation from the fire marshal. Pass.

vote-for2vote-against

Unbelievably, considering the purpose for which they are intended, two of these won't fit in adjacent sockets on a standard power strip. You would need a pigtail for the pigtail. Incredibly stupid design fail.

vote-for2vote-against

I solved the problem of plugging wall warts to power strips by buying an extension cord with 3 outlets from walmart for a buck and a quarter.

I can plug a wall wart on each side. I roll up the 6ft cord to the length I want and hold it with a nylon tie.

You can buy a 4 socket power splitter from Amazon and with a smaller plug for $13 and change. And it has free 2 day shipping for Prime users:

@bigellow: lol, I'll bring the popcorn

vote-for3vote-against

I have these and squids. The squids and the pigtails are useful for different reasons. This one give me two outlets at the end of a very long single extension cord.

vote-for2vote-against

@justabandnerd: Good idea but overkill for my application. I don't need or want a power strip at the end of my extension cord.

I'm buying one ... and I'll admit, I'm a sucker for their "Mystery Item Add-On." I'll post if I get anything good.

I am concerned that their website has many broken image links on the checkout page ...

vote-for1vote-against

Hmm. Their order confirmation went to my junk mail.

vote-for4vote-against

Was going to buy, but it doesn't have HD in the title. As an educated consumer, I only by HD products.

vote-for2vote-against

@sirlouie: Not unusual. Just flag as non-junk and add user as trusted.

vote-for2vote-against

@ginawoot: That's quite true, Captain Queeg.

@robio: At least they've had no complaints in the last year. Total complaints in three years - just 9. See web page for breakdown. Doesn't seem like a scammer site.

@otay1020: Where do you get the ~$10 price for Amazon? The list is ~$18.

vote-for-1vote-against

too expensive. Too wide at the strip. thumbs down from me.

vote-for4vote-against

@otay1020: was under $15 for 5 of them through LocoBuy

ALSO
type in the coupon free4me2435 and get a 'free mystery item' added to your order
no extra shipping charges or anything...they'll throw something into your ordered package for free

cheers
(keep in mind, it WILL take approx 3wks for these to ship...slow on shipping)

@autryld: I believe the reference was to the lowest price tracked, which appears to be ~$11 last February:

@psywiped: Yes, it's would be legal in the home, however not advised. If we saw this in a business/apt complex, while on a fire inspection, we would work with the owner to have them removed before we left.

Not supposed to piggy back power strips/extensions...
