How odd. I thought that if a deal was posted, that it might affect the reputation, which is still at 0/100. I've had comments voted up, but not on the deal side.
When I first created the account, I'd made some comments on a deal, and was amazed to see my reputation jump right up. Now those comments are gone, and it seems that no matter what I do, I can't budge the reputation from 0/100 to anything.
have you logged in and out recently?
@hobbit: The reputation hasn't changed on the icon that we can see, so logging in and out is probably not going to help, either. I think that the reputation system is BROKEN.
Post a question about it on ask the wooters maybe staff will see it and help you out.
@cassandratroy: I think a lot of reputation is based on time. I'd wait 24 hours and depending on how many people vote and comment on your deal see where that gets you.
@oheifearnain: Actually, I'd encouraged a deal posting to help this user, and I note that many new users seem to have reputation that remains at zero, no matter what. It seems that older users, with simply more activity, are preventing newer users from accumulating enough of woot karma (for want of a better word) to ever achieve reputation.
This started sometime last week, or so.
@cassandratroy: @shrdlu and @sgoman5674 are giving you good advice, more activity and time may be necessary.
@sgoman5674: you know she posted this 8 hours ago we have all voted on it, her reputation should have changed by now. Obviously something is wrong. Other people's reputations have changed.
@hobbit: I've now posted a question about this, because I think it's beginning to be a real problem.
Just use Paint.NET with the ico file addon. Or use The GIMP. Both free.
@heydabop: The GIMP and Paint.NET are both a bit more difficult to use than this. This deal was actually posted at my suggestion, and I use the software in question. You can use Icon Editor for free (it's Shareware), but I like to encourage folks who do good work, so I've always bought the licensed copy.
YMMV. HTH. HAND.
[Edit] Actually, I will point out that I've been using the GIMP long enough that I remember when the acronym stood for different things than it does now (the G used to be Graphical, long ago, and not GNU, for example). So it goes.
@cassandratroy: Yay you have a reputation!!! This is about the only place where having a reputation is a good thing for us girls.
@hobbit: Thank you, and thanks to everyone for the help with this. I will now go back to quietly lurking.
