Free – 2 Pack of Super Bright LED Head Lamps & $5.00 Gift Certificate for $0 + $4.99 flat rate sitewide shipping
coupon code: woothead
Now you can have a headlamp in front AND back!
Sounds awesome! Any reviews of the company?
Hope this'll be suitable for biking at night. Probably not considering the price point, but I'll give em a shot.
nothing is free... O_o
@luvche21: Some good, but mostly bad reviews from what I can tell. At only $5 bucks though, I'd say go for it, as it seems worth the risk to me. But that's just my opinion.
ordered from them twice before. Got what was advertised, shipping time was meh.... In for this deal.
I have also ordered from them before and received what was advertised (eventually).
Is the 'BONUS' on the listing the $5 gift certificate?. Note that the 'gift certificate' is probably a coupon code that does not stack with other codes (such as the 'woothead' code used in this offering).
I have one of these. They are quite bright, and probably would be appropriate for night biking. Certainly good for camping and hiking (and reading in bed). They are a bit flimsy, but i paid 2.99 ea for tham, and they work as well as headlamps that i have paid twenty bucks for.
I've ordered from them 3 times:
Laptop Bag - Up to 17 inch! - FREE + $5.98 Fedex Ground
2 Pack - Silicone BBQ Basting Brushes - FREE + $ 2.99 Fedex
2GB 3-in-1 Pen Flash Drive & Laser Pointer - $15.49 Fedex Ground
I have used the laptop bag for 2 years and the pen/flash drive/laser pointer my daughter used all year at college.
I don't remember how long it took for my merchandise arrive but it wasn't long.
I am going yo get the headlamps.
Slam
I ordered from 13deals before as well, it took about a month to arrive, but it was intact.
Not sure I have any use for head lamps whatsoever, even for five dollars, so I'll pass this time. You can get what looks to be this same one on amazon for 3.45 either way, so I don't really feel like I'm missing out!
In for 1, er, 2. And like a sucker, I bought two of the .99 cent mystery items. Since I can never score a BOC here :)
The site crashed when I was in process of ordering so have no idea if I got one or not.
ok happened twice, color me done. If they can't maintain the site then what other issues are they having
two thumbs down!!
I'll head over to Amazon
@penguindude: Worked fine for me.
If it matters, I used PayPal to pay. I always do, when possible, for sites such as this where I don't know the trustworthiness.
@tsfisch: Great advice! I do the same.
I'm going to give them my junk email address too - I have no doubt setting up an account with them will cause an increase in the number of advertising emails (and not just from "13deals" either).
13deals is okay to deal with, I'm sure. The resellerrating thread listed above has 3 reviews....can't base much on that. This company operates with ThatDailyDeal, and I've had plenty of positive experiences with them. I just got a fancy (awesome) watch in the mail from ThatDailyDeal, which ended up being FREE for me. They made a mistake on their original post, was 0.00 w/ free shipping. I hopped on the deal. They didn't cancel it (even though I let them know through their support center that the price was wrong) and I got an amazing watch for FREE :)
Stuff does take a while to ship, but they are still great. Ship time seems to be 2-3 days slower than woot (for it to leave the warehouse) if that helps you at all.
I bought one of these and they are by far the worst headlamp I have ever purchased. Don't expect to use these unless you are in a pitch dark place with no other light available because otherwise you will not know whether it is on or off. Save your money and spend it on a cheap petzl. At least you will have a headlamp that can actually be used.
@undertheshrine: I agree, these are VERY cheap. I ordered 3 from woot a long time ago and one never worked, others work but they are bulky. I wouldn't take them for pro treks or anything like that.
I owned one of these. Know that they are borderline disposable. I used mine maybe 10 times, and the plastic started breaking. The light is okay bright, especially at the darkest part of night. If you are looking for a long-term pair, consider paying some money and getting a solid pair.
TL:DR Awesome because they are free. Other than that, they are cheap and mediocre and will break with moderate use.
Edit: They are good for night-fishing for all the aforementioned reasons. Cheap, not worried about getting dirty, just enough light to help you tie that knot.
Bought these for my kids. They LOVE them.
The first set of batteries are still going strong a year later.
I'd say they're above disposable quality, but won't hold up to serious abuse.
That said, my kids haven't broken them in a year, and they do play with them regularly.
My main complaint is that the strap pulls out from the frame easily and has to be re-threaded. A minor fault.
I'd buy them again.
I had a heck of a time getting my order to go through, but it finally did. I tried making the purchase from my phone, but every time I got to the checkout point, it would tell me to log in even though I had already just done that a few minutes before. The problem was, each time I logged in, my cart was reset and showed zero items in it!
I finally went to my computer to try ordering and had several problems there as well. This time, the coupon code was properly applied, but when I got to checkout it was as if I hadn't entered a coupon at all. This happened a few times before the order finally went through
They make great Xmas gifts or party favors for kids.
I got this deal and a free dog snuggie all for the $4.99 shipping. My kids will be thrilled.
In for 1!
They are the same company as thatdailydeal.com and I have ordered from both a few times. All orders came through as advertised though shipping is rather slow. Expect 2-3 week. I would order from them again, and in fact just ordered a giant Darth Vader kite from them a few days ago.
That said, I would not order this headset deal again (they did it about 4 months ago). Of the two that came, one wouldn't turn off and the other broke within a week. They are not terribly bright compared to other headlamps I've used before, but it does provide fair light. They feel flimsy and are identical to some cheap ones I picked up at RadioShack about 5 years ago for about $5 each.
better off getting those at harbor freight for 2 bucks a piece
Bought one last year for $1 with free shipping on another deal site. They are great when you are trying to plug something in the back of a tv or computer that's in a dark corner or against the wall and can't hold a flashlight too. Also great when you crack open your computer and need a bright light to see in there. Definitely a step above disposable, but no hardcore use. Also, for a $1 I couldn't pass it up, for $5 ( even for 2) I can.
As I noticed in another comment - Go to the Pet 13 Deals (Link from same store) and you can add a dog snuggie (Small or Medium) for free - will not add on to your total after you have used your Woot coupon. So if you have a smaller dog or know someone you can give it to at Christmas - may as well add it to your cart before you check out.
In for 1 and 2 mystery items!! I can't wait to see what crap shows up in my box, Weeeee!!! The mystery items sealed the deal for this Momma who's kids need a new pair of head lamps ;)
These are crap, bought one and the switch broke in the first five minutes.
I picked up the headlamps and dog snuggie for free. Also grabbed the two pack of bug-zapper rackets for $7.99 and 5 mystery items. Total cost was just under $18 (incl $5 shipping).
@mikeymet: They're not remotely suitable for biking. They're not nearly bright enough, and can't be used with a helmet. Also, the light/battery assembly is hinged at the bottom to allow you to adjust the beam angle, But because both the battery and light are on the hinged portion (instead of just the light), its weight causes it to slowly swing down on its own. Because of this flaw, it's not suitable for any real outdoor activity, unless you want to fool with adjusting it every few minutes. I got mine for free, and pretty much only use it to add light to close-up work.
I got these before when they were on here. My dad uses them for work, crawling around in crawlspaces and dark areas, doing things around the house outside at night, etc. You can tell they're pretty cheaply made, but they work well enough, and should be worth $5 for two of them. If you need a cheap LED headlight, then these aren't bad.
@mommyleah: In a previous order, my mystery item was joke lottery tickets.
@paradigmshyft: lol, those almost ruined my wedding! My future brother in law gave them to my fiane/wife's mom the day before the wedding and she started screaming an yelling and had the money all spent in her head, when her son asked her "where do you redeem it?". At that point she read it and was stunned for a few minutes, then she started crying.
@kamikazeken:
This is funny?
Only bested by telling a cancer patient they're cured when they aren't.
Utterly dreadful.
