Right when I don't have any extra money to spare. I've been looking to replace the two 500GB Caviar Blues in my RAID0 array. I'm running out of space with those.

For boot partition purposes, once you go black you never go back.

@sunsparc - If you're using drives in a storage array, I would look at the Western Digital Red drives, designed exactly for that.

FYI: "Green" means slower. Less energy, yeah, so it works for a storage/archival drive, but it will be slower.

It's just a simple software RAID0 array inside of Windows in my home desktop. If I lost everything on it, I'd be pissed, but it's not anything I can't recover through other means.

As far as performance, would a Red drive have any gains over this one?
