Love my KitchenAid Mixer! One of my sisters has been wanting one so I promised I would watch for a good deal. Thanks for the post. I will pass this along.
I would like to buy one but the e-bay link price is 229.99
If you're considering a KitchenAid stand mixer, make sure you compare it to the Cuisinart stand mixer. You can sometimes get them for about this price, and they have:
1.) As far as I can tell, fully-electronic motor speed control (where the KitchenAid's is resistive if I'm not mistaken - mine stalls out at low speeds sometimes)
2.) A separate power takeoff for use as a food processor
3.) A 500W motor (going from memory here).
I really like my KitchenAid mixer, but I think the Cuisinart is probably a superior product.
