I would prefer the Logitec G500 to this (5700 DPI, better company) but that mouse is now $42 after rebate (Amazon raised the price by $6)
Anyhow, you get a cheaper price and get to avoid the rebate. Not a bad deal.
If I were in the market, I'd get this, though I prefer Logitech.
i like this mouse though I have since sworn off MS mouses thanks to their unreliability...
this mouse sucks. you move it too fast and it skips
@thejerm333: the rebate is a logitech rebate for multiple retailers including: amazon.com, buy.com, newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, circutcity.com, j&r electronics, b&h photo, beach camera/buy ding, pc richard, electronics expo, 6th avenue electronics.
also there is another deal at fry's for the same price as the old amazon one with a $15 rebate

When I bought the G500 off of Amazon, I had troubles ordering on my Amex and when I called customer service, the guy eventually brought down the $56 price down to the original $50. Lucky me :)
And it seems like Fry's deal is expired...
