Do you have a promo code for shipping? I started to order a couple and shipping was $5.50.

Same thing happened to me.... NO free shipping as advertised without that code I guess.

Sorry, I thought I went through the process far enough where my total included shipping - apparently I didn't. $5.50 shipping is a deal breaker on this one. I could not find a promo code. Since I put free shipping on the deal title I will ask that this deal be removed. Thanks for pointing it out.

Ok, I have "tattled" on myself and asked the deal.wOOt gods to remove this deal. We shall see if they are so inclined.

I bought this and it didn't work. I emailed Deal Extreme about it and received no response.

@mfladd: Why not just have them change it to say "and $5.00 shipping" instead of having it removed?

You could always still get them at DealExtreme for $2.93 with free shipping:

Meritline is carrying them now too it seems, but they are $2.99 there.

@sperri40: That is too bad. I bought 5 the last time they were on here. I am still waiting for them as they are backordered. That's a shame to hear they didn't work.

@shrdlu: I could, but the only reason I put them back up was I thought that this was a good deal. $5.00 shipping breaks it. There are many times I will put a novelty item up that I know has crappy shipping prices just for the novelty of the item. I actually meant this one to be a deal and I do not like being placed on the popular page because I put free shipping on there. No one would have voted this up if it had said $5.00 shipping.

Last time these were offered/posted here I ordered three. Received them yesterday (Jan 15) and none of them work with artificial light. No damage to the package or to the individual plastic containers, so they weren't crushed or damaged in shipment. No sunshine here yet so can't check that out...maybe I should throw one outside and see if it floats....

I bought 10 of these last time to use in my 5th grade Science classes to demonstrate solar power. They have to be in direct sunlight and then they vibrate. Ever play that football game from waaaay back when where you set up the teams on a metal game top and then the top vibrates and the players move? It's the same sort of movement. They do not walk, they vibrate and will slide on a smooth surface.

@kylemittskus: If it doesn't stop raining I'll be wishing I lived on a boat....

I bought two of these in a previous offering. They are completely worthless. Neither have moved, even when bathed in direct sunlight. I'd reccomend avoiding them.
