This set and most UK blu-rays will NOT play on a US PS3. It works on a normal blu-ray player just not the PS3.

Not sure if this set is different, but most of my blu-ray box sets are from the UK and they play fine on my US PS3

@jpkempo: Not true. This set plays fine on a PS3. In fact, I have yet to find a region-locked Blu-ray, let alone one that won't play on a PS3.

They had a good deal on back to the future trilogy also. I picked up this and back to future trilogy for $34.37 shipped.

Amazon UK has a lot of good deals on blu-rays & DVDs, especially for box sets. I always check there before ordering from the US site.

not such a great deal. my total (i'm on the west coast) was 31.93 US. total was 19.07 GBP, shipping was 4.07 GBP. perhaps the deal is over...?

Even if shipping to CA is 4.07 GBP ($6.57) US, there's no way the total should come out to 19.07 GBP ($31.93). 9.00 GBP + 4.07 GBP = 13.07 GBP ($21.09). Make sure you're choosing Amazon.co.uk as the seller.

Anyone know why Amazon's pricing is so different between their US and UK sites? Their US site sells the UK version, but at a significant markup. Seems kind of weird that they would stock the exact same item and sell it for more. Anyway, I think I shall pull the trigger this time.

@pleepleus: I think the price difference is because the UK version qualifies as an "import" so they tack on extra fees/duties. Also, since the items are in stock from the US, they will ship faster. I'd rather wait and order from the UK site.

@bartsimpson: I have the 2 old 60gb and a 40gb unit (all now have 500gb hdd) none of them will play blu-rays from the UK. I have this set as well as Shelock season 1 and they will not play.

@salsashark42: What unit do you have? The newer ones may play but the old units do not.

@jpkempo: I have an original/"fat" PS3 and a newer slim. They play almost all Blu-rays without any issue. The UK sets are all region-free, so your player won't know or care one way or another. If you're on the latest firmware and you can't play these, there's something wrong with your unit as it's not a fundamental design issue with the PS3 itself.
