Just got an Evo also, in for 1.

Class 10! Yay!

Just don't waste it on your digicam. It can use Class 4 fine.

Just to let you guys know, I bought one of these about 3 weeks ago and have had no problems, but on a thread over at XDA a lot of folks are having problems with these either completely not being read anymore or slowing down dramatically after just a few days of use. Most of the folks having problems bought them at Frys and I guess they had some sort of packaging problem or something was their excuse, but some people have had to RMA with Newegg. Newegg is always good about it and everyone seems to have gotten a new one. This class 10 makes my Evo fly!!!

I bought a couple of 32 GB Micro SD Cards off eBay about 3 weeks ago for far less than this, $19.98 - Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/32GB-Micro-Mini-SD-SDHC-Memory-Card-32-GB-G-New-/320636297838?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa769a26e

Sure, they come from China and take a 7-14 days to come in (ad says 15-25 days, but I got mine in less than 2 weeks, during Xmas season even), but if you don't mind waiting, it's a far better deal. I've tested all of them and they all work perfect, no lag, and they show up in Windows as the correct size. Great deal, I've used one in my cell phone, my tablet, and one in my DSi. No problems with any of those devices.

Amazon has 16gb Micro SD Cards for $25 with free shipping. They don't come from China. Just ordered one the other day.

@odie1344: The point here is that this card is a Class 10, not a Class 2 like the one you bought off of eBay. The Class 10 transfers data 5 times faster than the Class 2.

@laureneloise: Where do you see a Class 10 16GB micro sd card for $25 on amazon?

vote-for1vote-against

SDHC Class 2: 2MB/sec
SDHC Class 4: 4MB/sec
SDHC Class 6: 6MB/sec

Sometimes a class 4 SDHC card will out perform a class 6 or higher SDHC card in your device because it may have a higher max speed and you device can make good use of it due to good compatibility between the two. So Class 10 may sound great but Check the recommended speed for the device you in which you plan to use the SD card.

In for 1 for my HTC Touch HD :)

I ended up getting two myself. At this price it's worth a gamble. I purchased 2 micro 16gb class 6 this summer for my HP camcorder and they were near $80 a piece back then. Also, the "class" thing is a bit overrated. As long as it fits in the class spec then the manufacturer can label it as such but not all class 10s are the same or 8s and so on. Most importantly for HD 1080 recording and high end cameras it needs a fast write speed. For most applications it doesn't matter as much. The write speed is almost always alot slower than the read speed for these cards. Also, if you really need a high write speed card, you will need to purchase a higher end card. Look at the manufacter page... that's why manufacturers sell a few class 10s at different prices.

@yohams: according to the newegg details and the manufacturers product page this card also has class 10 rated write speeds.

@gthuffines: Unlike the old CD-ROM based x speed rating system which was based upon maximum speed read or write, the Class x system is based upon minimum speed and is designed to ensure greater device compatibility. If a digicam says it needs Class 4, you can feel comfortable that any Class 4 card you get will be fast enough to keep up with the device.

Unfortunately, what you may be seeing is that a card may be Class 4 in write speed but 100 times faster read whereas another card may be Class 10 write speed but only 10 times faster read and as such would seem slower in some operations.

Anyone used one of these in a Droid X? thanks, in advance. Happy New Year!

@odie1344.

Thanks for the info, but have you by any chance tested our the cards with H2testw (see link below)? You might know that there are a lot of Chinese flash cards and media players with hacked memories sold on eBay. The fact that the cards show "correct" size on the Windows doesn't mean that they are correct in size.

I myself bought an MP3 Player from China which showed as a 32GB on the Windows and was only a 4GB in real size. I got a full refund, but I learned it hard way, and as far as Chinese memory cards are concerned, I don't really trust them unless it tests out with H2testw.

If your cards indeed test out with H2testw, then they are indeed great deal.
