While i can see the usefulness for boil-over, the other points of having a dedicated microwave cover and a splatter guard are better selling points then boil-over. If you stick a wooden spoon over the top of your pot your stuff won't boil over.

@bsteimel: I was going to say, boil over on the stove is accomplished with a wooden spoon. Splatter guard/microwave use is a MUCH better selling point.

Could possibly be useful to homebrewers.Boil-overs are awful and waste potential beer. Not to mention messy.
