@kidincredible: Well, no one ever accused protesters of being smart.

vote-for15vote-against

@kidincredible: Yes, and by buying ham, we're supporting Al Qaeda.

Pretty loose association.

vote-for3vote-against

@kidincredible: That was a silly article. Also, to my knowledge, Anonymous has never said anything about Warner Bros in particular. They aren't against ALL companies and organizations in existence.

vote-for-1vote-against

Anonymous didn't make this mask cool, the movie did, although I do agree with a lot of what Anonymous does. Still, as long as this isn't that tiny replica that normally comes with the box set, I'm probably going to buy one for the hell of it. Could be good for some photo shoots eventually.

Guy Fawkes was a conservative Catholic that fought against the Protestant reformers in Spain during the Eighty Year War. In those days the Protestants were the progressives, they wanted change from the old ways of the Catholic Church. I really like how most of the kids that wear these masks today fail to see the irony.

I have one of these. It looks decent and isn't super flimsy. No Jason hockey mask construction, but it will suffice for $5.

vote-for3vote-against

@sickboy932: Agreed. It's The Last Samurai all over again (entertaining movie, but it ignores the fact that the samurai were fighting to preserve a feudal social order in which THEY were on top; kind of like the Lama class in Tibet).

@cmader:

Smart = Doing something about something. A rarity in the U.S.

Not Smart = Paying more attention to Dancing With the Stars. NOT rare in the U.S.

And people wonder why their rights are disintegrating.

vote-for6vote-against

@zackschumann: Smart: Doing something about something.

Not smart: Doing nothing about something, telling everyone you're doing something about something.

@woothulhu: Oh I agree that the Time Warner -> Scientology was a big jump of logic.
I just thought it was funny that it was like "Oh just in time to protest big corporations!" and it's a trademark owned by Time Warner.

(And in fairness, I did upvote the deal itself :P )

No one really cares what the history of the mask is, it's current use is based on the anonymous comic book hero V. The fact that the person the mask is originally based on would not have supported any of the changes the mask is representing today isn't really relevant. It's the same concept as how the swastika is an ancient symbol of peace and tranquility, that's what you think when you see a swastika right? you would wear one as a symbol of peace right?

vote-for3vote-against

@ikisat: I agree. If you look at pop culture it is rife with symbols and icons that 200 years ago meant something totally different. Thats the nature of our society. I'm willing to bet most of the members of the tea party movement are still relying on their understanding of the events surrounding the actual Boston Tea Party from 3rd grade social studies.

vote-for1vote-against

@shadowknight125: I've always been pretty baffled by the Tea Partiers thinking the original Tea Party was about government and taxes but I don't generally bother correcting them on it because they've never even seemed to realize they aren't a grassroots movement so obviously not the brightest bunch when they don't even know who funds their rallies.

vote-for-1vote-against

@ikisat: actually, I care as do others. It is what it is and no amount of deflection on your part will change the absurdity of it all. Have fun storming the castle.

vote-for3vote-against

Real anarchists use bandannas.

vote-for-2vote-against

@ikisat: So I take it you aren't one of these Tea Party chaps?

vote-for-3vote-against

@starknightgoku: So - Not Smart = Republican Party?

But I knew that one already.

vote-for6vote-against

This mask would look great with the deal I just picked up from Oh Cheri.

vote-for0vote-against

@sickboy932: Like I said then have fun wearing your swastika as a symbol of peace.

vote-for-2vote-against

@sickboy932: Irony? If you don't believe Scientology should be classified as protestantism, then what do you believe its classification is? :-P

vote-for3vote-against

@Kelmo726: No, supporting either of the two plutocratic parties is not smart.

vote-for1vote-against

@geartaker: Quality of and artwork on the $5.18 mask looks significantly better then the $2.98 one you linked, they definitely aren't the same mask.

vote-for1vote-against

V for Vendetta > Guy Fawkes.
Popular culture routinely trumps history.
Why would Paul Revere's ride of 2 miles be more popular than Israel Bissell's ride from Boston to Philadelphia?
Because Paul Revere has that poem written about him ^nothing rhymed with "Bissell".

vote-for0vote-against

@ikisat: Dear ikisat, the One cost $ 2.98 possesed better functionalities, in addition ,we have the item priced approximately $20, in oder to satisfy all kinds of customers' requirements, the qulity differs from price.
