@zippy the pinhead: that deal's dead. price is now 55.99 on amazon.

amazon deal is still good as I look at it now, 10:20 central time (good for those of us with Prime)

Not dead at best buy. I'm still getting the 39.99 price.

Picked this up at Best Buy a week or so back for $50. YOU SHALL NOT PASS up a good deal like this!

Still showing the $40 on Amazon for me (with Prime).
I can wait two days. No tax with Amazon (for IL residents anyway). If you have to pay tax, I guess it's a moot point.

@butteredtoast: If you have your receipt, see if you can get a price match refund! (If it hasn't been 30 days!)

Oh come on.... I just paid $50 for this from Overstock. I knew it would go back on sale as soon as I got it.

Watched all 6 discs (2 per movie) this week and boy was it awesome.

@newspapercrane: forget that--Target has the individual extended editions on Blu Ray for $10 each this week

vote-for0vote-against

@graywh: Target blu ray LOTR @ $9.99 are not the Extended versions. They are the same Theatrical versions as the post above yours at Amazon for the same price....
Disc 1 (Blu-ray):
Theatrical trailers and The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest game trailer (in high definition)
So, to save $10 you are only getting 6 DVDs instead of 15 (9 additional discs!) and the full Extended versions of the movies (in super nice packaging).

The 39.99 set retails for 119.99 (80.00 savings!) where the individual 9.99 movies only retail for 14.99.

@rachelle33: The ones I bought say "Extended Edition", have 2 discs each, list the longer run times, and their non-sale price is $13. I found them on a checkout lane end-cap (they were also in the large cardboard displays for Black Friday). Have yet to find them listed online. I don't care about the extra features and packaging.

Edit: Page 16 of my weekly ad includes a picture of the Fellowship cover in the bottom left corner: dark green background with a large One Ring encircling the movie title. http://weeklyad.target.com/nashville-tn-37205/pages?code=Target-121209&menu_order%5B%5D=2394971#16

More info in case anyone is interested: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=208985

I picked mine up in conjunction with the free $10 when you spend $50 coupon (needed some other stuff) and my 5% Target Visa discount, so I'm going to claim my total for the set was $18.50 plus tax. :)
