I cannot find anywhere if this is NEW or a refurbished device...am I blind?
wouldn't you buy a faster quad core for the same price?
ie: nexus 7
@stephen6789: I would, if anything for the higher resolution. A 1024x600 screen in 2013?
A few advantages to this tablet is the normal android os and the big one for me is the expandable memory which many of the other 7 inch tablets don't have. The kindle and the nook both have their own version of the os with no Google play. The nexus 7 has no SD card slot so your stuck with whatever size you buy.
@jewellz87: Actually, the Nexus 7 does just fine with a USB OTG adapter. I use one all the time to play movies off a regular, tiny USB flash drive. It requires rooting for full read/write access, or a $3 app for read-only.
Since the Nexus 7 comes from Google, it's almost as plain Android as you can get.
Eidelbus hit the nail on the head, the galaxy 7 is really just out of date at this point and similarly priced new tablets (IE Nexus 7 for $199) are far superior with software and hardware.
@morriea: This is new.
@macmall: it might be new, but no dual core should cost over $100
