The Pixma line has been pretty dependable and pretty fast. I'd spend another $10 and get a PSC(all-in-one), but that's me.

Pixmas are generally pretty reliable, and the lower-cost models actually have one advantage over the bigger, multi-ink tank models: the print heads are built onto the tanks.

If you're a very occasional printer, buying a unit with a 4-7 tank system sounds great, since each color is cheap, but the actual printer head is part of the carriage system. If it clogs or craps out, you have to pay for a whole new carriage. With an HP 4-tank printer, like most of the Photosmart series, that's a 50 dollar part.

Looks like this printer shares tanks with the other 2-tank Pixmas, like the MX410. For 20 bucks, it's cheaper to buy this whole printer just for the two ink tanks. Keep the printer as an emergency spare.

Did anyone else think this was a couch/futon when they first saw it?
