Might get one or two of these to keep with emergency supplies. Any wooters that have had it willing to share their opinion?
You neglected to mention that this can be purchased in a bundle with a Glock Disassembly Tool for just $23.90!
For some reason I'm attracted to this deal, but I can't imagine that anyone would EVER need the 10+ year shelf life
Now I just might have the ability to say "I was saving that bacon" in a post-apocalyptic scenario.
@heymo: I thought you were kidding. I guess I haven't been ordering my share of weapons lately.
@capguncowboy: "Better to have it and not need it..."
Mmm bacon - I'll bite.
This is great... hope I can get a few cases since WWIII will upon us within a year!
Now that's just cute, bacon in a can!
This stuff is disgusting.
I looked it up on youtube and its basically cooked bacon wrapped in wax paper in a can.
misleading, i thought it was gun oil or perhaps a oil you can clean your gun with and eat at the same time, like when you're trying not to be rude but you have to stick a pistol in someone's mouth.
I know bacon cooks down a lot, but really? 3 lbs of raw bacon equals the 9 oz in the can?
@dbamberg: Yes. American bacon anyway. Depending on your country you may know it as "streaky bacon". It's at least 50% fat by volume.
Everything's better with bacon... even the Apocalypse!!
My Wife laughs when I look for emergency equipment... :(
I think I've finally found something, I'm going to have to limit HER on buying in the name of an Emergency!
To Quote her just this weekend at Ihop "BACON!!! Bacon, Bacon,Bacon...." LOL
Not cheap but I'm sure we'll end up with one at some point :)
oh my goodness... something to store next to my twinkies stash.
What's the difference between this very expensive can of bacon, and the very INexpensive cans of bacon that I've seen in the thrift-aisles? I'm talking about the cans of bacon (of about this size) that are made in Denmark or Holland or somewhere in that part of the world, and sold for a buck or so a can? Maybe they cost a bit more now (maybe two bucks a can?) -- I haven't been paying attention lately. although I will confess to having bought a can of it a few decades ago out of curiosity. The description earlier in the thread could have applied, i.e., something like very greasy bacon wrapped in waxpaper and stuffed into a can.
Considering that uber-greasy stuff like that tends to keep forever regardless of how it's handled (OK, "nearly"-forever) -- there's a reason it was the "animal protein and fat supply of choice" during the Civil War and other conflicts in an age where food preservation & storage were not nearly as convenient as today -- I find 10 years to be unremarkable.
Bacon
say no more.
If you need a 10 year shelf life on meat...you are a terrible hunter.
Now we can be ready for zombies.
Anybody know where I can get a deal on some Strategical Bacon?
MREDepot.com has it for 11.95 in a camouflage can. Same exact product - different label. (There are also detailed pics at the site)

Once removed from the can and heated up it is indistinguishable from any other strip bacon because that is exactly what it is: BACON.
the brilliance here in in the video....
How bad do things have to get when we need "Tactical Bacon". I'm just imagining a world without a steady supply of bacon and it's not pretty.
In fact, if I ever find myself in that world, I hope this Tactical Bacon is laced with cyanide, but I don't wish to live such a horrible existence.
Long live bacon....well, you know what I mean.
CMMG's a pretty cool company and their tactical bacon is pretty good. We had to get some, just in case we needed it for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Now they just need to package it with their Tactical Bacon Bandolier and the world would be a better place.
I can't believe it's for real. Really are there that amny end of the world types running around?
