It's cool and all, but I can find lots of ways to bathe the pooch before spending $125 on this :)
Made in the USA.
That guy looks absolutely delighted to be washing that dog.
Who actually needs a platform to watch a dog anyways? Every dog I've owned would jump off it in a heartbeat.
Man that dog looks like the happiest dog in the world
if zippy were still around he'd proclaim that 11% off != deal
As a person who had to bathe dogs and cats for a living for 2 years of his life, having an elevated platform to wash dogs is a blessing for your back. We used to tie a leash on the faucet to prevent dogs (more so for the cats) from jumping out that would tighten when they pulled, so they learned to not pull. This product has a leash built into it. This also comes with a way to control where the water is directed.
Just a tip: put a little mineral oil in your dog's eyes before bathing them to protect them from some of the pain of soap and other stuff. Cotton balls in the ears is a good idea, but not always necessary.
For as little as I give my black lab a bath my tub is way cheaper & will do just fine. :-)
Not to mention lifting her to get her in here would be a pain in the @$$! :-)
The best way to wash a dog IMHO is to:
only do it when necessary - dogs have no skin sweat glands. I do it after a roll in the mud. Probably on the average 2x per year. Too often removes the natural skin and coat oils.
If you have a shower with a door, I find this ideal. You go in with the pup in this method! Close the door with both in he shower, and scrub away. A hand spray helps as well.
Place a towel on the pup before exiting so the walls don't get rained on.
Anyone have a wild guess what's my pup's name :-).
@pinchecat: Where is Zippy these days?
Can this be used to wash babies?
I'm wildly guessing "Tucket"
Way too small for my Great Dane. But then I don't have to bend very much to wash him. I wish this was up on a weekday, one of my co-workers does Golden Retriever rescue and might want one.
Elevated ... a word that's counterproductive when you own an English Mastiff. ^_^
I've seen the Booster at dog shows and they work great dog owners love them. There is a leash restraint to keep the dog from jumping out and the back is open and about the height of your couch so the dog can jump in if the dog is agile enough to jump on your couch or bed. If not, there is an optional ramp that can be purchased. Not for the folks that almost never wash their dog you may get used to the small but please think of your family and friends. On second though, maybe you should consider bathing more often as well!
@magic cave: no tellin. i always figured "he" was the alter ego of another regular, so he's probably still around with his regular nick
@curtisuxor: Yeah, I can understand if you were doing this multiple times a day, or even a week. Our dog maybe gets three baths a year - and at least one of those will be during boarding when we're out on vacation.
