HP TouchPad 16GB ($99) and 32GB ($149) Selloff- Starts 8/20
HERE'S THE DEAL! HP recently announced TouchPads are being discontinued, and retailers can't get rid of stock, thus the price cuts. Don't be surprised to see retailers match these prices (Best Buy, Amazon). Best Buy in Canada has already slashed their prices on these tablets. @oleschuldad: Mine says the same thing... My order was around 3PM PST on Sunday 08/21. I'm hoping I still get one, but I'd be willing to wait a week or two more for it.
@misterron: I am jealous. Every time I see one on craigslist for under $200 dollars, I get excited until I see that these are WTBs. Major price gouging in the ATL.....

Got the one in the mail delivered as a present, and glad I ran out and found the second to last one at the Staples near me. Can't believe it's been 11 days but it's a pretty sweet tablet.

@soninja8: I didn't mean that, just annoys me when people do stuff like that or buy up a bunch to sell. Yeah, it's a capitalistic society but it's just annoying. Made me think of those people.
HP is having that second shipment come in, I'd just stay up to date to their regular web store, and there was even an article about it today.
@alexfedp26: yeah, ive read everything....what i dont get is why doesnt HP give all those hp touchpads in the second shipment to people like me who had a pending order? i mean it saves them the hassle of people having to reorder and bloack their site...
H.P. described the batch of new TouchPads as a “limited supply” and said it would limit purchases to one per customer. They will be available by the end of October at $100 for the version with 16 gigabytes of storage, and $150 for 32 gigabytes, the same prices charged during the first liquidation sale.

The more I use this the more I like webOS, too bad it's so limited with apps though. I hope whenever android is available it's a dual boot.

did you guys order 16GB or 32GB touchpads? I haven't gotten that email yet though i know i ordered before the cutoff. I ordered a 16GB, and based on what i've read on precentral.net it seems most(all?) of the people who have gotten that email so far have ordered 32GB TPs.
@nkaushansky: I ordered 2 32gb models, on Sunday afternoon (although I'd been trying since Saturday.). I haven't received a cancellation email or a tracking number.

I just added a deal for a kickstand case for the Touchpad from myincipio.com. Somehow I can't get the direct link to my deal, but if you click on my name you can find it by the title "Incipio HP Touchpad KICKSTAND Nylon Case ...".
FYI: I had placed on order with Office Depot during the madness and was put on a backorder list. I received an email saying they couldn't fulfill orders pretty quick and cancelled my CC auth. A few days ago, I got an email saying they could now fulfill my order, as long as I reply by Tuesday at 11:59pm. I'm guessing some people who placed a backorder will not want one, so go to OD, try to get on the backorder list or at least keep an eye out at midnight on the 7th.

@soninja8: Well, dont feel lonely..its looking at this point like I may never get mine either! Just got off phone with HP. I showed a status change on my order with yesterday's date and showing expected shipping today and expected delivery tomorrow(FEDEX NDA)so I called to check and they just told me it will be at least the end of this month and possibly October before it ships! Seriously? ANOTHER 6-8 weeks before it ships?? Even the slow boat from China's not that slow..
@soninja8: I'm in the same boat. No Touchpad for me. I refuse to pay the Touchpad scalpers $250 for one.
@cowboyesfan: Same thing for me. I haven't even tried to call HP yet. I figure, there's nothing to be gained... But even if I have to wait until the end of the month, it would still be pretty cool :) I also refuse to pay scalper prices.
@brimister: Me too. I've been following you and @oleschuldad and @soninja8 for probably 10 days now (and it feels like a month), but maybe I'll be able to get one when HP announces that they have them back in stock.
I'm figuring that HP ordered almost a dozen of them for this next run in order to meet demand. :-P

well, I finally got an email from HP SMB. they said my order will be fulfilled in 6-8 weeks. I'm glad my order will still be going through, though waiting 2 months to get my touchpad is saddening especially when people who ordered after me have already gotten theirs.
I placed my order Saturday night around 10pm, but it wasn't accepted by the system until Sunday at 4am EST. Order number 4396XXX.
here's hoping some more people get good news soon too.
@nkaushansky: Finally got my email as well confirming the same thing they told me on the phone the other day... oh well, at least it wasnt canceled...so I can look forward to a Thanks Giving Touchpad...lol

Although I my order went through on 8/21 at 1:54am (PST) the above shows that the order was on 8/22 at 9am. nkaushansky, so when you add three hours time difference between you and me, I ordered almost an hour after you did. Of course I, as well as everyone else, had been trying since four hours earlier from that point but HP's website kept giving errors of out of memory in global.asa, vbscript error, etc.
But, the thing to take away from this is that within almost an hour, HP had only 7,000 (4403xxx - 4396xxx) orders go through their system.

So of course I know its 2 months before my order is going to ship, but why do they keep updating my planned ship and receive date to yesterday and today? I also noticed my order balance has changed from 169.81(149.00+tax+fedex nda shipping) has risen $10.01 to 179.82 ???
I also am showing that my arrival date is today...
