I'll buy a new gas can when they get rid of all the gadgets they've put on the spout that causes me to spill half my gas and causes me great stress and frustration when trying to fill my chain saw or weedeater.

You can thank tree-hugging government regulation for that.

I have had more gas spills with the new safety spout than I have in the last 45 years.

I have a solution to the new spouts...I remove them and use a funnel.

@mikemtn: +1
I purchased one of these new fangled gas cans and the first time I went to use it I spilled gas all over the floor and myself! I was so pissed at the crappy new end I broke it in half!
I found no way to make it work without spilling gas all over, YA! real "environmentally friendly" for sure.
In the end I went back to where I had purchased it and right next to the new gas cans(all with the crappy "environmentally friendly" end) they sold "retrofit kits" for your old ;) gas cans......bought one of these and everything is good again, no leaks. To bad the "retrofit" kit cost 1/2 the cost of my new gas can but without it the can was no good IMO.
IMO when they need instructions on how to operate a gas can(like they do on all the new ones) things have gotten WAY to complicated!

I have one of these and no real problems pouring gas if I take my time. My shoes become untied once in a while so I assume it's the government or some tree hugger who is messing with me.

I have one of these and I don't mind the spout, but then again I have some sense.

the new pourer is garbage, I have taken to using a funnel and don't spill a drop now. they can send that crap back to china and cut the price of a can in half.

finally, something to put my big gas savings in.

@l44fox: I think you just nailed it,the darn Chinese are making us spill our gas and while they're at it they are charging twice what we should be paying for our cans!

Back up to $18.50. No coupon code to reduce to $8.50

After buying my last gas can and being incredibly frustrated with it, if I could do it over again I'd just buy one of those metal Eagle ones. We have to use those at work because even the new fangled ones don't meet OSHA regulations. The other option are the military style "Jerry Cans" aka Wehrmacht-Einheitskanister which are actually standardized by NATO regs I believe. They aren't cheap but your grandkids will probably be using them (unless we're not using gasoline by then.)

Do what I did. I messaged ALL my congressmen asking them to repeal this law.

How can I get it for 9.99? When I click on "I want one", I am taken to a K-Mart site and the price is $18.49. plus shipping (6.99). I can buy locally for less than $17.00 and $1.70 sales tax. NO DEAL HERE!

Here it is @ each $12.99 with 7.95 shipping. It appears 7.95 shipping for just one or for three. @ 4 shipping increases by $2.00.

You mean cheap Chinese safety features don't work? Madness.
