@dkfick - I'd imagine that the boiling wort would foul the chime quickly.
Those damn bubbles were never enough to alert me as I napped, now I have an audible alarm. What's next, peanut butter and jelly already mixed together in the same jar?

So the product, by their own admission, is not even REAL yet. Still a sparkle in someone's eye. A mere piece of gray matter on the horizon... Yeah, sure, I should buy one of these.
And who is deleting my posts???
What a nifty site! If you haven't looked it over, check it out.
You gotta check the site out. I have to say this was my first flummox of the year. I had to get away because my neck was twitching. "ERROR! ERROR!"

This paragraph has been up on that site for nearly 2 years. Is this thing made from some hard to get metal or what???
I just turn on my kitchen digital thermometer and set it to 210 degrees. stick in the probe and when it buzzes, the water's boiling.
@iisaic: Was that spiffy digital probe less than $9.99? Did it have such an amazingly catchy name? Is it as stylish? I think not! In for 3!!!
i ordered something called a Wakemate last February from a company like this where they took preorders. This month (1 year later) they finally emailed me saying the wakemate is ready to ship and I need the pay the balance. Last Feb. I prepaid $5 to get applied at ship time and it was supposed to get me free shipping too. The price went up from about $50 to $60 now and I get this in the email:
"Please note: when checking out you will be charged the price of $59.99. Your pre-order deposit has been refunded, and will not be applied to the purchase price."
anyway be prepared to wait an unknown amount of time before you actually get some of these presale products, if at all.
Nice way to collect people's credit card info...
@redfive5: Hehe, good one.
I like the idea of this product. It's the same behind a kettle whistling when the water's ready. I don't see you guys making fun of that one. I always go do other stuff while waiting for the water to boil. I go back and check on it frequently. I think it's worth the $10-$15 bucks for this if it eliminates all those trips back and forth to the kitchen.
Is this what we have come to?
...because water boils way faster with the lid off and a bathtub toy in it.
