Thats about the best sale price I've seen this at...I own one of these from a previous sale and while I don't use it that often it does come in very handy form time to time...good remote. My only complaint is the mouse/track ball...the ball is a bit loose and that tends to cause a little bit of over steering with the pointer....beyond that the keyboard is fantastic and feels solid. Easy to type with...
got one of these for $35 last time i saw it on here. works perfectly. just plug in the receiver and Windows automatically sets up the rest. good range and all buttons do exactly what they are supposed to. only gripe is no backlit keys and can't click the trackball. if you can see past those 2 things i highly recommend it.
Just bought one :D I been looking for a good remote for my new media desktop while laying in bed and based on the previous 2 guys comments this seems like a good choice. We shall see :D
Does anyone know if this would work with a playstation 3 or maybe even the xbox360?
@simmp5: works with the 360.
I have one of these too when the last sale had them for $35 bucks. It's totally worth it, it's perfect as a HTPC remote. I use this for sitting back and controlling my computer for when I watch movies and whatnot on it, don't have to have a big keyboard for that!
@vinithehat: much ablige
I bought one of these during the last sale as well and love it so far. It works great for a HTPC and looks pretty slick too. However, I did also see this one the other day ( http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/keyboards-mice/e0e7/ ) and it seems like it would be an option as well. I don't know how well a handheld touchpad would work out, but the backlit keys on it seem like a plus.
@simmp5: It works on the PS3.
@darlenela5: much ablige as well to you too. thanks everybody
Been looking for a wireless keyboard with a mouse type device for my HTPC for a while now, actually looked at this one specifically, but the $60+ price tag scared me away.
For $30 even if it's crap it's probably not a bad buy!
Lenovo's website was pretty flaky though, took me several tries to get it in my cart and couldn't pay with PayPal until I created an account. Didn't give me an error, just kept refreshing the page when I hit the "pay with paypal" link...
Lenovo's site gave me trouble until I created an account too, so it's a little screwy, but in the end the coupon code worked. I've reviewed this specific device before, and while it didn't quite end up being my #1 pick it was second, so for this price I was happy to pick one up.
Just FYI, without a space in between the coupon code and the word "Mini" it's easy to accidentally copy the extra text, which obviously isn't valid as a coupon code. Took me a second to realize what I'd done. ;-)
@deathbywedgie: thanks for pointing that out about the coupon code. There was originally a carriage return there so don't know why it got reformatted. So just to clarify the coupon code is:
USPCJL46336
@deathbywedgie: point for you, i would have given up if i didnt read your post.
Sounds like a better alternative to using joy2key and an xbox controller for a remote and for 30 bucks, I'm in for one
I've had mine for a year now and its the ticket for a PC streaming video! Tried a wireless keyboard and mouse, range was not as good as this! Get one!
I bought one a while back, and while it's not perfect, it has replaced my Logitech bluetooth keyboard/trackpad combo for my HTPC. I have three main complaints:
1) It seems to be susceptible to objects in the way. It's not nearly as responsive when the coffee table is between me and the receiver.
2) No backlight (as mentioned)
3) No scroll wheel. I often scroll by the click-and-drag method of grabbing the bar and moving it around. Clicking and dragging is a two-handed event with this device. A scroll wheel on the bottom would be fantastic
That being said, if you're looking for a solution that won't take up a lot of space, this is probably the best value I've seen.
I picked this up this morning... For use on my PC hooked to my tv aka blue ray player...
@kenerg: did you use USPCJL46336 inside the eCoupon box? I'm unable to get the discount to apply.
Coupon code is returning as 'not valid for shopping cart' when I try it in the eCoupon box, and yes that's without the 'Mini'. Looks like this one is dead.
