Are these biodegradable?

vote-for7vote-against

I have a better alternative... use the FREE plastic grocery bags that you have hundreds of already... nincompoops.

Could use these for all the bastards who let their dog take a ** at my job's front yard. Rich scumbags.

I'm also curious is these are biodegradable? I already use shopping bags, but putting biodegradable poo in non-biodegradable shopping bags and before burying them in a landfill, makes me guilty.

vote-for2vote-against

good deal, not great. check amazon. biodegradable is key.

vote-for2vote-against

The bags I use to pick up my dog's poo are the absolute last thing I want to be biodegradable.

If you're not (wo)man enough to use the excess bags we all have, you can get them for the same price at Lowe's (at least in southeast Virginia).

@dutrowllc: I agree. I'm all for helping the environment, but I don't want some biodegradable baggie made from expired fruit roll ups that melt at the slightest increase in temperature.

Because I promise you if one of these used bags biodegraded in my hand, the amount of cleaning products and paper towels involved in sanitizing my hands would severely offset all green earth benefits of using said bags.

vote-for7vote-against

@dutrowllc and @hubbleusaf I have used these biodegradable bags and I can assure you that you cannot tell the difference. Just like disposable cutlery that's made of cornstarch and biodegrades you cannot tell the difference.

The biodegradable dog-poo bags I have are less "stiff", if that makes sense. That said, this isn't a good deal at all. I bought a pack of I think 1000 or so for around $20 on ebay...this was almost two years ago, and I'm still on the same batch.

Re biodegradability: I know this won't work for everybody (what does, right?), but I recycle grocery store circulars - which are delivered free to my door - for this purpose. Every week I fold a stack of them into pocket-sized squares, wrap a rubber band around them, and keep them by the door. As we approach my dog's usual spot, I semi-unfold the doody paper; when he assumes the position, I open it up and quickly slip it under him. Mission accomplished, I fold the corners together and deposit into the nearest receptacle. If the weather's wet, a double layer does the trick, but the semi-slick colored circular pages repel moisture to some extent too. I take a bag along just in case, but this is my preferred method 99% of the time.

we use reusable green bags for groceries, so we don't have excess. we do use the bags the newspaper comes in and then the biodegradable bags. i got some on amazon. 30.00 for 880. .03 a piece........... and people.... they do not decinegrate in your hand. really!

@trendkill7577: Thank you for showing that you're morally superior in the ways of green. Go back to licking your frogs and hugging your trees. Perhaps someone will leave a flaming biodegradable bag of nincompoop on your doorstep so you can use your Birkenstocks to stomp it out.

Oh, and have a nice day.

vote-for1vote-against

dog poo is alot more biodegradable if you dont put it in a bag

vote-for1vote-against

@trendkill7577: let me know where you live then I will be even greener and just leave my dog's nincompoop at your place. No bag needed. And for the record I think most people, like us now use reusable bags for grocery shopping

vote-for1vote-against

@garman64: I, too, don't have excess bags. I don't use plastic at the grocery store, and anything that comes in the mail immediately goes into the recycle bin in the garage.
I'd think about buying these (they are a good deal), but I'm a little bit nervous about Skoofy. I've heard some not so good things around here about them.

Why am I reading all of these comments while eating breakfast?

vote-for1vote-against

Clicked on the link and "I want" both show the price as $5.99?

@buggernuts: & @kobrate: look I'm no Al Gore. I'm just saying why pay for bags if you have free ones. I don't care about the planet. It's gonna end in 2012 anyway. Freakin dingleberries....

vote-for1vote-against

Everyone should buy these to save and use them as sandbags on z-day.

vote-for1vote-against

You definetely should use plastic grocery bags for your poop. That way, it in 50 years you can go to the land fill and check out your dead dogs poop as it was preserved in the bag. Recycling is stupid, who needs clean air anyway...

vote-for1vote-against

Im a professional dog trainer and I only use these bags. They are thick (never break on me), Bio degradable, and just an overall pleasure to use.

Just bring a squeeze bottle of bacon grease...
then other dogs can clean up after your dog.

Picture is a bit misleading. Shows 21 rolls; 100 bags is probably around 4 rolls.

vote-for1vote-against

Misleading? Yeah.

Their site might lead you to believe you'll actually get something sent to you after they take your money.

Until I finally get my refund for merchandise that never shipped, I do not suggest anyone order anything from skoofy.com.
