FYI: The less fancy version of this clock is up in the Woot Off right now (midnight central) if you're just looking for a cheap ipod dock alarm.

I want one feature in alarms that is rarely offered: fade-on volume. It's soooooo much nicer to be gently awakened as the volume increases from 0 to LOUD over a minute (or longer) period, than to be awakened by WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP! (or even MUSIC!!!!).

Doesn't look like this can provide that feature, either. There's an Android app that does - Gentle Alarm. But apparently this alarm system is iPhone-only.

For a while I chose music to manually give me that "fade on" effect -- pieces that started soft then grew loud by 15-30 seconds in.
