H8. I'm glad to see the writers took advantage of that.

If anything I won't stop H8ing hp. Although they did really up their satisfaction ratings. http://www.infoworld.com/d/adventures-in-it/how-does-your-pc-manufacturer-rate-842

This has some really high end specs for a decent price. I'm still baffled by why HP uses 300W PSUs instead of just raising the bar a tiny bit and keeping it in line with the level of the other components.

I just built a computer with lower end specs (i5-2400, no blu-ray, already had the hard drive, and no gpu) for $500 so when you add in the extras you get this seems pretty awesome... except for that damn psu.

This has one of the nicer processors available today. It's the locked version, so overclocking is limited, but it would be very speedy out of the box. The processor sells new on newegg for $300.

nice deal!my boyfriend will love it!

vote-for4vote-against

I'm super happy with the HP refurb I bought from woot! for my son. I'm thinking about snapping this one up for myself.

vote-for1vote-against

Good deal for a casual user,
even better if PSU is replaced to at least 500w. Upgrade the graphics card and this can truly be a gamer's setup, the 6670 is slightly below the radeon 4800 series. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

vote-for1vote-against

Might finally pull the trigger. I've been waiting for an i5 or i7 and I don't feel like researching to build my own. Since I'm not a gamer I think this will do.

vote-for1vote-against

could you get another 6670 and crossfire them? do we know if the mobo is capable?

vote-for3vote-against

Pardon my ignorance - but how would this be for gaming? My son likes to play WOW and I know there is a lag on our current computer.

Thanks!

vote-for1vote-against

I got this last time around. Dropped in a new power supply and a 120 GB SSD. Vroom Vroom. H8 if you will but I lurve mine.

vote-for1vote-against

Does this support USB 3.0 or is it only 2.0? What version of SATA drives does it use?

vote-for1vote-against

@oksfinest: Power supply isn't. Too weak even if mobo had 2 PCI-E 16x slots. IMHO build your own. Would be nice to see a barebones kit show up on Woot.

vote-for3vote-against

@casee123: It can handle WOW no problem. It may not be able to consistently run full "ULTRA," but anything short of that should be no sweat.

vote-for5vote-against

Never changed out a PSU before, but I'm pretty confident I can do it. I'm just not sure what to get in place of the existing one. Are they pretty much all compatible? Or is there certain things to look for?

vote-for3vote-against

I just customized this computer on HP's website and the total came out to $1,258.99 after a $100 rebate. I'd definitely be in for one at nearly 50% off if I wasn't a poor college student.

My Ma got a refurb HP from woot (not as cool as this one) and it died shortly after arrival. (wouldn't power-up) We sent it back to HP with and the replacement has been going strong ever since.
I deem this deal worthy of a couple months worth of interest on the credit card. In for one! Ch-yeah!

vote-for1vote-against

I have just pull the trigger, now which PS should I be looking for?

thanks,

vote-for1vote-against

I purchased one of these the last time it was available on Woot. It's been a nice system for me, no problems, very fast!

I'm not a gamer, but was willing to pay a small premium for a nice processor. It makes everything we do (including some video editing) much smoother!

vote-for2vote-against

Sure was a very tempting good deal, but I was looking for an i7 CPU desktop with 4 RAM slots for future growth instead of 2 slots like this one, and looking for it to also have a 7200RPM hard disk drive instead of 5400RPM like this one. Congrats to all who secured themselves a fine i7 machine for a fine nice reasonable price! Way-To-Go Moofi Woot folks!!!

:)

vote-for1vote-against

seems like a good price for such good specs, but i thought the i7 was a 6 core processor, but it clearly says in the description it is a quad core. is that a typo or are some i7's quad core?

Seeing this sold out makes me feel better about my impulse buy. The ol' lady wasn't too happy when I told her I bought it before consulting her first. As I told her, I wanted to get it before it sold out and now I see my concern was justified.
It better turn out to be a good purchase or I'll be in the dog house for months.

I bought a different refurbished computer (one of the late 2010 models) from HP this last summer and had issues with it for 6 months. Well, they finally made it up to me by sending me this exact same machine, save it be with a 1TB hd, to replace the one I got this last summer! Total spent: $350.00! Great computer. Well worth over $750!

@rs113113: I got this deal on a power supply here
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details_ss.asp?EdpNo=4365851&CatId=1079&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=PvTvb1zzm2o-K5nYZ2lk7hnoD9iEpGkm2Q
and swapped it out. I had never done that before or installed ram or a hard drive but was able to do all of that with help from kind internet folks. It's easier than one would think. Good luck.

vote-for1vote-against

@prplemtngal: Thanks that is very helpful! With the speed of woot shipping, I guess a have a couple of weeks to study some youtube videos on it.

vote-for1vote-against

Any idea on when these are going to start shipping?

vote-for1vote-against

@dbiggs I just got a shipping confirmation via email. Looks like they are shipping via UPS from CT, so it's going to take a while to get to me in AZ. Was hoping they'd be shipping from TX.

vote-for2vote-against

An FYI for those getting this early this week. I live in CT so mine was delivered on Friday. Make sure to check your accessories first. Mine came with a wired mouse, making the wireless keyboard a large paperweight.

Got the PC up and running with a friends wireless bundle. Love it so far.

vote-for2vote-against

anyone having trouble connecting the wireless keyboard and mouse? the computer recognizes the dongle as an input device, but neither the mouse nor keyboard connect.

vote-for1vote-against

also, my stats show my graphics card not being the advertised Radeon HD 6670, but rather 5670, anyone else?

vote-for1vote-against

@ingleseae: and @youksayseffu:
Mine also came with the wired mouse and no wireless USB dongle/adapter.

My video card shows as the correct 6670 model. Everything else appears in order. Nice and clean inside. (no dust on fans)

Gonna email service@woot.com about the mouse now.

vote-for1vote-against

Another potential issue:
It sees my 5ghz Wifi N band, but it can't connect. I assume it's due to the 5ghz. Not an issue for me as I will have it plugged in. Using 2.5ghz band while setting things up now.

vote-for1vote-against

currently in conversation with the vendor and woot regarding both of my issues (wireless mouse/keyboard kit and graphics card). Vendor has already ordered a new wireless mouse/keyboard kit to be sent to me. A solution for the graphics card being substandard to the advertised model is still being negotiated.

vote-for1vote-against

I have just received my computer today and I have also received a wire mouse and a wireless keyboard without a dongle. I hope woot will resolve this for me. Everything else seems to be in order. Nice setup, so far.

vote-for1vote-against

Wanted to update my earlier comment

Contacted HP, who was useless, and then contacted Woot who partially refunded my order. It was all pretty smooth and allowed me to purchase a logitech bundle at the same price point.

vote-for1vote-against

Got confirmation from woot service that the vendor will be sending me the correct items. Yay!

Woot Customer Service puts the jam back in my doughnut!

vote-for1vote-against

was sent another wireless keyboard/mouse kit and successfully connected/installed. Still waiting to hear back regarding substandard graphics card.
