TD never honors their MIR, I've shopped with them for years for my PC building but eventually had to use Newegg exclusively because of the Mail In Rebate nightmare from them; the product itself looks great for the price but I don't need that headache. :(

I've never had a problem with MIR with TD, Other problems but never that (Google trust took care of that)

On another note, great deal, but the $4.09 for shipping...not so good of a deal.

@mikeeyram: 1.99 plus 4.09 is just 6.08 for 16GB....seems like a good deal if you do not mind the hassle.

$6+ for 16GB is an ok deal, but not wonderful. Keep an eye on meritline and you can often get 16GB for 7.99.

I've never dealt with TD, but friends I asked said they had no probs.
I'll risk $10.

@krypticklown: I've gotten a few small (<$10) mail in rebates from Tiger but they said they never got the paperwork on a $40 one and again on a $75 one.

I kept copies of everything but couldn't prove they got it. If you are going to send in for a Tiger rebate, be sure to add an extra $5 for cost of certified mail. Just using a 46 cent stamp isn't going to get you the rebate.

I stopped doing business with Tiger/CompUSA/Global because their rebates are a scam.

@krypticklown: Honored every rebate I've done with them.

@mikeeyram: If you have an inner circle membership there are no shipping charges. I do enough business with them to justify it, so it's an amazing deal for me. Not to mention $6 and change is still cheap for 2 8GB drives.

vote-for2vote-against

By the time you factor in shipping & handling, plus tax my total is $17.51 which for 16GB is not all that great a deal....especially considering its 2 8GB drives. Ill pass as its not worth the MIR hassle.

Have never dealt with TD, but fell for one of these pieces of junk from the Egg a couple of years ago. Reads sporadically in my USB 2.0 machine but USB 3.0 ports won't even recognize them. It's junk. Stay away.

Not worth the trouble of the MIR. I hate deals like this that seem good until you look into the details. Not worth my time to fill in 2 MIRs and waste a stamp. If it was money off up front I'd be all over this.

@cebooher3: I had a similar experience on a flatscreen a while ago. It was supposed to be $50 rebate from TD and a $100 rebate from the manufacturer. Got the TD rebate, but the manufacturer said they knew nothing about the $100 rebate that TD had advertised. Nice monitor, but I ended up paying $100 more than I had budgeted for this. Haven't ordered from TD since.

You'll not be getting your rebate from Tigerdirect.

Newegg has a 64G PNY flashdrive for $17 after a $26 rebate. $0.99 shipping:

@cebooher3:: And, what did TD say when you called them to complain about the manufacturers failure to make good on the rebate? If they advertised it, they WILL make it good.

Hopefully, you made a pdf copy of the original add [always a good idea when a rebate is at stake].

@alhall: You should post the deal and then link the DEALS URL in the comments here.

OP - please add "a/r" and "+$5 shipping" to title.

@buffbillsfan: shipping varies, so it is in the body where it belongs. You cannot edit the ad this late.

I haven't had any problems with TD's rebates...all of them have gone through for me.

vote-for1vote-against

The 80's are calling. They want their mail in rebates back.

vote-for1vote-against

I've never had a problem getting a TD rebate but I haven't bought much from them lately and I tend to avoid rebate deals because it's a hassle.
