why it burnt up was 1 u used too small of an extension cord like a 14 guage instead of a 12 or 10 depending on length, or u pushed it too hard or it just ran out of life.

I had one of these about 8 years ago. I had a townhouse with about 20 square feet of grass & it worked perfect. I them moved to a house with a 1 acre yard. First time I tried to edge the fence, it burned up. Moral of the story: perfect for small yards, will probably not cut it for a large yard.
