This is the brand that walgreens carries... The roasted variety are way way over cooked. Both almonds and pistachios are nigh inedible. Look elsewhere unless you fancy the raw variety

@gumbotronix: Unfortunately that deal is "No longer available..." Also, they were 6 oz. cans, not 9 oz. It was a good deal, though! ;-)

Sam's Club normally carries their 3lb bag of almonds for $10.78 ($3.59/lb), or the roasted and salted ones for $9.48 ($3.16/lb).

@bnbsouthworth: but tack on the additional $$ for a Sam's Club membership...it factors out to be at the same "deal" here or more, unless you shop so often there and the membership was paid off from saving $$ on other items purchased.

I tried the "smoke flavor" verswion of the nice brand over the weekend...and promptly returned them to get my money back! They just had a bad fake smoke taste that ranged from barely noticeable to an old ashtray taste. I had my receipt in hand, explained to the cashier that I was not satisfied with the almonds and she said they don't take back food items. I pointed out the "100% satisfaction guarantee" on the can and she said they don't take back food items. I asked what the guarantee meant and she said I'd have to call the toll free number on the can! I stepped away from the register and called the number! About 30 seconds later the manager interrupted me and cheerfully refunded my money. I'll stick with smokehouse by blue diamond but will try the roasted/salted nice brand at some point...when I can't find blue diamond on sale.
