Every deal has lots of buyers who pay full price. Thats what makes these listings "deals". Plus, those full price payers subsidize the discounts for others.

While this isn't the cheapest I've seen a year of gold, it is just $5 more which isn't that much. However, if you need a mic and don't have a chat pad you should look into getting a Microsoft XBOX Live 12 Month Gold Starter Pack for around $60.

Just in case there are any parents out there who both they and their kids use Xbox Live, go check the Xbox Live Family pack. It's $99.99 a year (only sold directly through Microsoft), you get 4 members each with their own accounts and as a parent you can monitor what they do and set up restrictions.

great timing! ours expired tomorrow! We switched to pre-pay instead of auto-pay because of the flexibility, and you can get it much cheaper usually with deals like this, thanks for posting!

It is a digital code they will most likely email you. You can just write it down in a card. You will not get the physical card with the tear off piece.

lol looking at the down votes on my comment, I can see there are plenty of suckers that signed up for the $15/mo xbox live. Really it is a freaking rip off, but people that aren't willing to pay the $50-$100 extra for the 360 I guess would rather pay the $130 extra in live fees.

@sumduud: I think they were down voting because you cannot use these pre-paid cards if you have the 2 year commitment.

By the way, the Xbox 360 deal is the exact same thing wireless providers do. They sell you the phone at a discounted rate, only to recuperate their money on your monthly bill.

For those who do not have a credit card or wish to finance their Xbox buying it like that is the exact same thing as buying a cell phone and activating a 2 year contract. Although, I personally wouldn't go about it this way... it is a viable option for some.
