I hate it when they try to make the Fine Arts look like a Hollywood blockbuster.

"Rise of the Masters" ? ? ? Is this Tchaikovsky or Michael Bay?

Get this long-dead artist's works before he "decomposes."

But seriously, The 5th Symphony in E minor is worth the price alone.

I have a couple of these. The recording quality is very, very good. Well worth the price if you're looking to expand your collection.

These "Rise of the Masters" sets are a great value -- mostly full works with very good sound quality by lesser-known (but nonetheless competent) performers. At $2 a pop, you can have a massive classical collection for next to nothing. [Also, do not expect this price to go up; it has been priced at $2 for a good year or so, save a month or two it briefly rose to $3].

Mozart fans should search Amazon for the "Big Mozart Box," a set of nearly 200 tracks (again, mostly full works and wonderful recordings) for $0.99, a price which will certainly go to $10 within a few weeks.

If you are looking for other composers the Rise of the Masters sets don't cover, try the "99 greatest" collections (most are around $5). The Saint-Saenz album, in particular, is awesome (I'm listening to it now!).

Finally, Amazon's Cloud Player is amazing! Using my work's wi-fi, I stream these classical albums from my iPhone speakers all day long while I work. Now, I can't imagine working without this stuff.

@sharanmahapatra: I'm streaming it on the Amazon cloud player (via Android) right now. No problems for me.

@sharanmahapatra: As far as I know, you can download your music to mp3s on your computer or mobile device without DRM. The cloud player on your phone has a setting to automatically download new songs. I have yet to try and pull MP3s out into a separate collection, but as far as I understand, this is very easy to do and does not require any special software.

Thanks for posting.

Whether it is a one time deal or not, this is great buy. In for a few.

The classical music pieces are a good buy, but did anyone try to play with the Amazon cloud player? Does it work - it seems to be paused all the time.

Amazon cloud player is good, but Google Play Music is my favorite for Android.
