i got these on woot last time. Cant beat 3 pairs for $8

vote-for36vote-against

Perfect for a certain coupon that was just emailed out...

vote-for25vote-against

Mine fell apart the second time I used them.

vote-for13vote-against

I got these in my last (or next-to-last?) Bag o' Crap, and they were much better than I expected, fairly comfortable and decent sound (I use mostly for spoken word though so YMMV).

I ended up using them a lot more than I thought I would ever use earbuds, too, because they're easy to carry around -- I keep mine in a mint tin in my jacket, so I have them on me pretty much all the time.

Would recommend.

Wooted three of these about 6 months ago. Thread:

http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=4541662

Not great bass, a bit of a tinny sound, but all three of mine still work (granted through pretty light use) and for 99 cents are pretty decent backup earbuds.

You get what you pay for, but they work okay.

vote-for6vote-against

I wonder what percentage of Jumbowoot coupons will be spent in less than 18hrs AFTER they got 'em :)

Also..$5 Jumbowoot coupon the same day we get a 99¢ item. Coincidence?

[ed] @jsoko: I totally beat you to the coupon reference, I just get distracted while typing comments :D

vote-for5vote-against

these are pretty good. take good abuse from running and workouts as well

vote-for8vote-against

Ill give these a try at that price, even with the shipping still a better price then the super cheap ones at target. In for 3.

vote-for19vote-against

I wonder how many people will buy 1 pair for $5.99 not realizing they can have 3 pair for 7.99.

vote-for11vote-against

Do I just have a dirty mind or does the image on the Shakira earbud look like something else?

vote-for11vote-against

I got these last time they were on here thinking that they were a pretty good deal. They didn't last much more than a month, however, and they started falling apart before then. While they worked, they were a decent pair of headphones--especially for the money. That said, the right bud came apart at the seam that kept the two halves together. It seems like it was just glued on at the seam and not very well at that. The teeny-tiny wires connecting the main wire to the speaker were the only thing that kept me from losing the speaker half of it. I snapped them back together, and they would kind of hold, unless rustled. I tried to be especially carefully with them after that, and I was hoping to super-glue them back together at some point but never got around to it. The tiny speaker wires eventually gave way at some point and I lost it. On top of that, the rubber bit that goes in your ear has a tendency to fall off quite a bit. I somehow didn't lose them until the 3rd week. YMMV, it seems.

"Comes with 2 pairs of soft rubber ear tips"

For those who bought these before - do they come with one set attached and one extra set or are there 2 extra sets? Also, are the ear tips all the same size? Thanks!

vote-for4vote-against

@chipgreen: One extra set, iirc. I somehow lost the replacements before I lost the ones that came installed... which was only about 3 weeks later. I'm pretty sure they were just replacements and, therefore, the same size.

vote-for4vote-against

@chipgreen: One set of earbuds already attached, and one separate.

I believe (though am not certain, as I've long since lost the other pairs) they are different sizes, as I universally heard better sound through the extra set included. A little bit annoying to attach, but seemed to be worth it to me.

vote-for10vote-against

hmmm.. I didnt get a coupon in my email ;(

vote-for7vote-against

I bought 3 of these last year. They're not bad at all. I can never have too many earbuds since I seem to break them - a lot. And, with the Woot! coupon, $2.97 total is perfect.

Oh, I had the same problem as one of the people above where one of the buds popped out at the seem (not put together very well). Since I was at work, I had to be resourceful...I used a little scotch tape on it. No problems at all since then and you can't see the tape.

vote-for5vote-against

In for three. I don't have a need for these right now, but paying a buck a piece after coupon for gifts or spares I can stash in a drawer somewhere is worth it to me. Good deal.

vote-for4vote-against

$15 - $20 for each set elsewhere; OK I'll try it

vote-for11vote-against

@stallion69: Probably because you didn't post a deal in 2011... or ever...

vote-for3vote-against

never bought on sellout.woot .... just on all the other woots

vote-for4vote-against

Got 3 of the Def Lepperd pair last time. Work well, comfy, but lack the low end bass I like. Good for workouts and runs, and the anti-tangle cord works great

vote-for7vote-against

@stallion69: It's not the buying, but the participation. Deals.woot is only as good as the what the community puts into it.

vote-for3vote-against

In for 3 :) One for me, one for the girlfriend, two for me...

vote-for5vote-against

I think the coupon was in my spam box when I emptied it, anyone care to post it so I can use it? Yes I know they're account specific so if I didn't receive the email I can't use the coupon.

Bought 3 of these last time they were up, the first 2 lasted a few days before they split in half. Like someone else mentioned you can just snap them together. Problem is after falling apart so many times you're bound to accidentally sever the wires connections, which is what happened to the first 2 after a few weeks of daily use. Third pair still going but figured another 3 wouldn't hurt.

vote-for5vote-against

keep some electrical tape handy, because the speakers fell out of both sets I ordered within a week. the colored earpiece and speaker terminal collars tend to separate with little effort as well.

IMHO, not even worth the $5 shipping...even for a threebie.

vote-for6vote-against

@narfcake: He said "Sellout" not "deals" which means he might be oblivious to Deals.woot.. (although getting involved for the sake of possibly getting a free coupon MAY not be the best motivation :D)

[deleted all the stuff I said to Stallion69 explaining Deals.woot when I thought he'd never seen it before]

We get a $5 coupon about every ~6 months or so if we're REALLY active :)

[ed] Okay, well I just took the time to actually look and apparently you HAVE seen Deals.woot before, because you've commented lol. I look stupid, but I stand by my comment.

vote-for5vote-against

Excellent sound, especially for the price. My complaint is that they aren't as rugged as I'd like -- the wires near the connector get internally frayed if you're regularly using your MP3 player in-pocket, especially for exercising or brisk walking. If you're willing to leave your MP3 player out on the table or otherwise in a position where the cord isn't getting bent right near the connector, should probably last pretty well. By comparison, my previous earbuds have lasted through something like 4 years of use, and are still working.

vote-for3vote-against

i've gotten 3 of these before. the sound is good. the wires are cloth covered instead of rubbery. i like them enough to buy 3 more.

vote-for3vote-against

Why you gotta hate on dubstep?

vote-for2vote-against

dude, i've been a member forever. i never get a coupon. comments here i come.

vote-for4vote-against

@alkhe4life: ProTip - Don't be a white triangle if you're hoping for coupons.

vote-for3vote-against

In for 3 here also! And without a coupon from woot! What can I say ... things just aren't the same since woot went under the Amazon umbrella. But hey ... I'm still around. :-)

vote-for2vote-against

These are great. Just in time, too, because I'm down to one pair of earbuds.

vote-for4vote-against

@craigthom: i had the same problem with the kiss ones... i put a drop of jb weld in each bud and they have been fine ever since... the other two pair i bought last time never had any issues. just bought some more for spares...

vote-for4vote-against

I bought these the last time they were on Woot. The sound is crappy, I regret buying them.

vote-for4vote-against

Will just say, don't pick up just 1. I did 3 last time, one was a dud and one ran out pretty quickly, but one was fantastic. So, it's a little earbud lottery!

vote-for-1vote-against

Not a good selection of artists/bands but for $0.99, what could it hurt?

In for one. Thanks @Jumbowoot!

vote-for3vote-against

I don't know how many previous buyers noticed this, but the packaging is pretty fancy and uses a number of disc-shaped rare-earth magnets. They are slightly hidden but come out easily enough, and they are strong enough to be handy as not pins on the fridge or whatever. Definitely 99 cents worth of magnets on these, and the buds are really good. I especially like the cloth insulation, it draopes better than the rubber kind.

vote-for3vote-against

The packaging comes with a number of rare earth magnets as well, so that and volume of 3 for the $5 shipping makes for a nice woot, as opposed to some stupid clothes hanger contraption.

vote-for3vote-against

Wooted another three. My family liked the fabric wrapped tangle resistant cords and the acceptable sound quality and the comfort of these so much that I have none left!

vote-for4vote-against

Bought 3 of these last time. One died after about 2 weeks, one was broken straight out of the package. The third I gave to a friend so I don't know the status. It's cheap, but it's a risk.

vote-for4vote-against

@craigthom: Mine too! I am normally a sucker for any cheap ear buds, but these are certified crap.

vote-for7vote-against

Got a bunch of these the last time and one of the buds started to separate so I put a touch of super glue on it and it was fine. I think these sound pretty good but you have to mess with how they fit in your ears,on mine I changed one of the extra nibs and it made a big difference. I also think they're comfortable and no problem falling out of my ears. These things are a lot better than some of the nasty "vibe" brand cheapos you see out there.

vote-for3vote-against

I bought 3 of these from a previous Woot and they've worked well. My only complaint is that they aren't labeled L and R for some odd reason.

vote-for3vote-against

for the price your can't beat the sound but i bought 3 of these last summer and all 3 broke within 2 months of everyday use

vote-for3vote-against

the drummer from Def Leppard's only got one arm

vote-for4vote-against

Two of three pairs I bought broke within a couple uses. The metal seam became unglued. One pair still works, but I only use it occasionally as a backup pair. The sound is fine, but unremarkable.
