this a great deal on great flatware. have had them for years - still like new.

I find it hard to believe anyone has had this set for years. I think this has the same name and design but is a new "made in China" version. I bought the set about a year ago and already there are stains and scratches on many of the pieces and the tines of the forks are mostly out of line. Just from normal daily use! We're not jimmying things open with them. I'm shopping for an 18/10 set. This one wasn't even worth the discounted price I paid. I can't imagine anyone paying the $200+ list price.

PS - even though they're dishwasher safe, the care instructions say you should remove them after the final rinse and hand dry. Huh? What's the point of a dishwasher? I might as well hand wash and dry. Life is too short to baby your silverware!

I've had this set for 16 years and am VERY happy with it - it's our everyday table ware. I'm disappointed to read that the quality of the newest pressings has declined so I won't be buying more.

I also got this set in 1994 or so, I still have them, and they still look brand new.

HOWEVER, when I have seen them more recently, they are the same shape, but not nearly as heavy and nice as the ones I have.

I agree; they must've changed the metal quality in the meantime.
