They also have a great deal on Sharpies..
Thank you for posting this! There's some great deals on here,
and I do plan on getting (or trying to) the hard drive =)

Just bought two of these hard drives. Please note that the full discount does not show in the shopping cart until you work thru the checkout process, but you can see the discount before you finalize the purchase.

Am due to receive these on 11-30, so fast (free) shipping too.

Free shipping on any order over $50.

For all the cyber Monday deals at Staples, see:
http://www.staples.com/cyber-Monday?cm_mmc=Twitter-_-sneakcyber-_-mon-_-event&cid=SM:SBD:TWITTER:SNK_CYBER:20101123:EVENT

They have some decent prices on GPS devices, monitors, a laptop, printers, office furniture, and other business items.

Just got this deal, its live on the website for ordering.

vote-for1vote-against

Got one =) Western Digital is compatible with my wii, seagate is not!

If you happen to get a box that says "Made in Malaysia," they contain Caviar Blacks inside.

vote-for1vote-against

Anyone have one of these? This looks like an awesome deal but what is the drive?

vote-for1vote-against

@neutralizer: I hope that's a food cause I'm hungry!

I had to buy one, simply was forced to really. it's an investment or something...

vote-for1vote-against

Deal's live now with free shipping.

vote-for1vote-against

I don't think the Limit One per Customer applies. I added 4 to my cart and it took off the right amount.

vote-for2vote-against

I was in until I saw I had to pay $4 in tax. NO THANKS!

J/K, in for 1

vote-for1vote-against

stupid california electronic waste recycling fee! still a good deal though in for 1. this will store a lot of 1080p movies :-)

vote-for1vote-against

No "Limit one per customer". It is, however, "While supplies last".

These use the Green Drives. I assume this means WD20EARS.

You get free shipping to your own home (because it is over $50), but they do have Store Pick-up if you want.

EDIT: *Now OUT OF STOCK

vote-for1vote-against

Funny, I bought this exact Drive last on Black Friday at Target for the same price. Glad I got mine before they ran out.

vote-for1vote-against

Yes, sold out (by 9:15am EST)...they had like 12 of them. great deal - for the first 12! :-(

vote-for1vote-against

It's bait and switch nonsense, they don't have any intention of honoring the prices that they're advertising. Hopefully no one will be foolish enough to buy anything else from them and encourage these tactics.

vote-for1vote-against

@ mason4300 If/when a similar deal shows up... I have several of these, in the 1TB and 2 TB sizes. So far no complaints; they are USB speed but movies play without buffering. They run cool and are a nice form factor that stacks up compactly.

vote-for1vote-against

Agreed. I have the 1TB and no problems so far. When I need more storage I'll buy the same (only 2TB).

vote-for1vote-against

Staples didn't limit the # per customer, as they should have. I was able to buy 2 when the deal went live at 2am, but some people troll for these sorts of deals, and re-sell them on Ebay or elsewhere for far more $ later. Futhermore, Staples had advertised the price on Facebook, so many people knew about it. I believe a few people scooped up the majority of the drives.

Staples should have put a limit of 1 or 2 per household, to be fair, but they didn't.

vote-for1vote-against

@f00l: not for nothing but if you're running a national emarketing campaign as a large corp, you might want to plan not to run out of inventory in 6 hours...well anyway I got my woot deal yesterday of the WD 1.5TB for $60 so I can't gripe too much (the elusive lowest cost/MB!), I probably have 1TB more than I need anyway for the next 3 years, by then we can all pick up the latest deal for 10TB for 10 bucks!

vote-for1vote-against

Sorry I missed it.

Amazon has these for $89

I had intended to buy these from Staples when I heard of the Cyber Monday sale, but found them instead at my local Target for the same price. These are really nice drives with one caveat- apparently, they have some Windows XP issues. They work perfectly fine if you don't repartition them, but because these are the Green drives, issues will occur if you partition the drive. (Google Caviar Green and Win XP for a more technical explanation.)

I'm just using them for storage, and I'll be getting a Win7 box next year, so I'm fine with it. They're quiet, the light is on top and not in my eyes, and it works. They only have a one-year warranty (unlike my WD Elite, which has a three year), but you can buy more years at westerndigital.com for $25.

I love deals sites like woot and fat wallet, but really they are just havens for lurkers looking for deals like this and then the people who will actually buy and use them get screwed. Bet there are now 12 of these on EBAY marked up to 100.00. They should make it harder to see the deals on these sites.

Luckily Best Buy will honored this ad. Hahahaha Best Buy was like "I need manager approval for a discount that big." I was all... "Okay but that's the advertised price."

Honored.

@agent019:

You had a great idea. Anyone who wants a drive at this price, print the online price from Facebook or Staples.com and go to Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Microcenter, wherever, and see if you can get a price match. Might work!

vote-for1vote-against

@agent019:

did you just walk into a best buy store with a printout of the staples online ad? i checked best buy's price match policy and they're pretty strict about the rules, and it says that they won't match an online retailer, so i'm wondering if it will still works?

thanks

Look at this Bull (mod edit: profanity) email I just got from Staples after ordering this item aroudn 3am

Yeah I got the cancel email too. Called customer no service and raised hell. Somebody should get fired. I'll never use their site again.

vote-for0vote-against

@tkrzysko: How many were you trying to purchase at a time?

vote-for0vote-against

if anyone else is able to get a price match, post up! I waited in line for customer service for an hour and in the end they told me I couldn't for two reasons. they don't match items that are delivery only and also don't match items that are sold out.

vote-for1vote-against

I'm back, and I got the same disappointing message rejecting my purchase. Stupid staples... deal was too good to be true...
;_;

I'll just keep my money and use it to dry my tears.

vote-for0vote-against

@tkrzysko: dude why are you crying about it? you got 30 bucks for free.

vote-for1vote-against

Yeah now that I got the money I feel better. I just bought the 1 TB seagate portable drive for $50 shipped. It's half the size but at least I don't have to be by an electrical outlet to use it.

vote-for1vote-against

You guys are going to love this. Look at the email I just got for my 1 TB hard drive I ordered with my $30 Staples Bucks. DEJA VU!
