From experience, some will be upgraded to 4G. You just will not know till you get it.
Well dang, and I just missed the Woot-Off with the Zoom dock. Ah well. I really want to play with one some before I commit to it.
My bro has one with a dock and a keyboard and he said he is running JB 4.1 on it currently, it is not running as smooth as the latest ICS version 4.0.4. The Browser in JB 4.1 is much much faster, but ICS is more stable in general. BUT expect a JB 4.1 patch...so this is a cheap way to get into the latest google software....imho. Also the XOOM is beeeeefy
Is it required to sign up for a contract? or do can i use it for wifi only?
@unheardfury: It is a perfectly good WiFi only device. It can also be 3G month to month if you like. No contract EVER needed either way.
I can second the wifi only thing, I never set up a contract, although I ended up paying full price on the opening instead of subsidized, and you still get updates normally over the wifi. Currently mine is running ICS, which also makes it compatable with my TimeWarner TV app, making it a moble tv
JELLY BEAN 4.1 is great imho
OK, I am confused.... it says Android 3.0 Honeycomb....so why is everyone talking about 4.0 Jellybean? And, this is a used unit? Not even refurb, used.... and 3G requires contract, so why mention 4G without?????
Am I looking at the same thing as everyone else, or did I dose off..... ???
@wesdapilot: They ship with Honeycomb. The OTA update is ready as soon as you turn it on. Some were sent to Verizon for the 4G upgrade...they just advertise 3G because some are not upgraded. The one I received was. If you activate the 3G or the 4G you need to pay for it but you do NOT need a contract. You can go month to month. You also can use it as a WiFi only tablet without activating anything. This is what everyone is saying.
Pass. It STARTS at $199.
- May show limited signs of use
- May be missing parts or accessories
- May have dents or scratches
Be aware these devices are Pre-Owned not Refurbished. If you decide to get one, you are truly risking on getting what you pay for.
Hi there, I got a question. What's the difference between the motorola xoom black model and the gray model? (some xoom's are complete black on the back and some others are half black and half gray)... any ideas?

My understanding is that the all black back is on the 3G models and the black/grey is on the Wi-Fi only models. I have the Wi-Fi only model and it is black/grey on the back. Any other owners can verify?
BTW - I LOVE the Xoom (but I have nothing to compare it to since it's my first tablet)
