Got several sets of these last time when they were shipping 45 random Marvel comics with the X-Men variants for my kids. Had many of each of Conan the Barbarian, Spider Man, Spider Woman, Daredevil, and Thunderstrike. Most were from early 1980s to early 1990s.

I agree with OneBadDoggie, shipping was extremely slow (almost 3 weeks), but it was totally worth it.

This was up several weeks ago..here's a link to it in case you want to check out the comments, which are generally along the lines of great deal, terrible shipping.

Yeah shipping is slow. The one from the last time they did this will probably arrive tomorrow, it just shipped.

Graveyard Mall STILL hasn't shipped my order from 03/09/10. Not happy!

Yep, expect a month to receive anything at all from them. Last time I ordered it took a threat to report the purchase as bogus to my cc company to get any response from them. But it's very worth it if you have the patience to wait a month or so for it. I'm in for one. Would order multiple sets if they could guarantee I would not get multiple copies of the same comics.

Not a good deal, I bought 2 boxes and they had 95% identical comics, only a few included are even worth reading.

I was happy with my Marvel assortment. My DC assortment was just ok. No repeats for me in either box, although they were all pretty much from the same period (roughly 1985 - 1995). Aside from 2 or 3 random gems in each box, they were all what you'd typically find in your local store's 50 cent bins. Of course these cost quite a bit less than 50 cents though.

I'm gonna pass on this. Between the sloooowww shipping time (seriously, expect 3 weeks, minimum), and the rather low quality of the comics, it's hardly worth it. As bgbopper said, it's your typical comic book store $0.50 bin fodder.

Would tell you what my past order had in it, but I haven't received it yet. Three weeks and counting.

A question for those knowledgeable in the comic book trade - If I was to spend the $16 to get this offer and took the box to my local comic book "buy-sell-trade" store what kind of profit, if any, could I reasonably expect? Not expecting to get rich or find that one-in-a-million comic, but just turn a decent profit. Any guesses/ideas?

@taxform: I haven't ordered this package, but the indication from most people is that the vast majority of the comics would be bargain bin fodder. Those most comic shops don't even want to buy (the bins are generally for getting rid of old comics, not really making a profit).

If you can find a store that will buy those, I wouldn't expect more than 10-25 cents per (probably closer to 10 cents). You may get a few gems in the package, but don't expect to sell them to a store for more than half the price guide value (assuming they're even in decent shape).

I'd say get this more for the novelty of reading the old comics. I think you'd be hard-pressed to make a profit selling this to a comic store, and if you did make a profit it wouldn't be more than a couple dollars. Might have more luck selling each individually on eBay, but I still think the marginal profit wouldn't be worth the effort.

If you haven't received your Graveyardmall.com order, I suggest calling them and leaving a little message if they don't answer. I did that with my sunglasses deal as they put up new daily deals for them and I hadn't got mine yet and miracles upon miracles, mine shipped the next day! I LOVE the sunglasses, but yeah, shipping from graveyardmall leaves a bit to be desired. Contact them...

As I work in an online company that does shipping all the time, the likely scenario with Graveyard mall and many of the slow shipment/receive times, I'm guessing that they are using USPS SmartMail. Basically, it's the lowest priority and the stuff ends up waiting in bins at the post office for 2 or 3 weeks before they are even processed.

I orded the last time they had this on 3 weeks ago and still haven't received my comics. I even emailed them last week about it and haven't even received an email back. In the words of Stephanie Tanner... How rude!

@novastarj: Thanks, your reply confirmed what I was kinda thinking - Not enough concievable profit to bother with. I passed. And I really appreciate you taking the time not only to reply, but to do so in some depth explaining your reasoning.
