The best game I've played for the Wii. It's a lot of fun, so this is a good deal. Note that there are other games at this price right now, but some are not so high quality.

The controls are awful. If only they had used the Metroid Prime controls! D:

@enigmabrand: Nah, the controls are spectacular. So much better than RE4 for the Gamecube or PS2. In a way, the shooting controls are almost too good, since it actually makes the game quite a bit easier. Sure there's a learning curve, but after playing for 30-45 minutes you should have it down.

Great game and great price, anyone who has a Wii and hasn't played this on any other system should get it.

One more note... don't let Amazon sucker you into buying the Perfect Shot with this game (despite the fact that they are "frequently bought together"). This game is NOT Perfect Shot (or Wii Zapper) compatible.

But I really can't recommend this game highly enough.

Are the controls and the gameplay for this anything like Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles??

@sableprncs: No, completely different. Darkside Chronicles is an on-rails shooter, so you don't really have control of your character.

RE4 has more complicated controls because it is a much different type of game. You actually walk around, and your viewpoint is from behind your character. There's exploring involved, and some puzzle solving. Definitely a much more involved game than Darkside Chronicles (which actually isn't half bad). RE4 is more of a "traditional" Resident Evil game, whereas Darkside is really a spin-off that's pretty much an entirely different genre.

If you really want the difference illustrated take a look at the video review here: http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/853595/biohazard-umbrella-chronicles/videos/re4_vid_rev_061907.html

I, also, liked this game. My favorite on the wii, The lag in the tracking took getting use to. I doubt it motion-plus compatible, but that would make it even more enjoyable.

I loathed the controls on the original Resident Evil games - you know, that "backward is forward" movement stuff (I don't know how to explain it) but this game's controls are perfect. This is fantastic game in terms of gameplay and atmosphere! Good and creepy! Highly recommended by this gaming female.

One of the best RE/Wii/GameCube games to date. Also has great replay value since you can continually start over with a better and better weapons arsenal. (after you beat it of course)

@novastarj: Thanks a lot. I'm a huge RE fan and I've played and beaten RE4 on gamecube and playstation and I was just wondering if the gameplay was still pretty much the same or was it like darkside chronicles. Like you said, DSC isnt a bad game, i just like being able to control my character a little better.

This is a GREAT game, the controls are some of the best on the Wii. However, BEWARE, I got my copy from Amazon today and it is clearly a used game even though it does not state that in the listing. The shrink-wrap was clearly not original and the manual is a little wrinkled, however the disc is fine so I will not complain too much.

Had it for two years and I still think it's one of my favorite Wii games of all time. LOVE Mercenaries...I strongly recommend it!
